• Build and scale a high-performing team: lead, coach, and grow the team while hiring strategically, identifying operational gaps, and raising the engineering bar • Drive execution across strategic initiatives: Deliver against a multi-quarter roadmap spanning reporting infrastructure, enterprise reporting capabilities, AI-powered insights, and scalable data foundations • Shape technical and product strategy: Partner closely with Product and cross-functional engineering teams to define the long-term vision and architecture for Reporting and data-driven product experiences • Lead through ambiguity and rapid growth: Navigate complex, evolving problem spaces while balancing near-term customer impact with long-term platform investments • Partner cross-functionally: Collaborate deeply with Product, Design, Platform, and business stakeholders to evolve Vanta’s reporting strategy and enterprise data capabilities
Job Requirements
- Have 4+ more years of professional experience in a full-time engineering management role, with proven experience managing 8-12+ engineers
- Have previously managed product engineering teams building a reporting or data visualization product
- Possess strong technical depth—ideally as a former senior or staff engineer—with ability to guide data infrastructure and product architecture decisions
- Have demonstrated track record of delivering results across multiple workstreams while maintaining quality and team velocity
- Have experience setting product and technical strategy in partnership with Product and Design teams
- Have participated in developing or driving engineering-wide initiatives in a prior role
- Are a strong decision maker who effectively balances ambiguity, available data, speed, and quality
- Can influence cross-functional stakeholders and adjacent teams as an effective communicator and story-teller
- Open to using AI to amplify their skills and strengthen their work - demonstrating curiosity, a willingness to learn, and sound judgment in applying AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact
