Role Description This is a remote role. The Director, Data Engineering, is a critical and trusted leadership role, responsible for leading and forming the enterprise’ data platforms that support BAYADA’s mission and long-term goals. This role is responsible for formulating and implementing a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with the organization’s overall business objectives, enabling reliable, secure, and scalable data foundations for analytics, decision-making, and AI across the enterprise. The Director, Data Engineering, is responsible for ensuring data initiatives support and enhance the overall business strategy, fostering growth and competitive advantage. Qualifications - Exemplifies characteristics of The BAYADA Way: compassion, excellence, and reliability. - Four (4) year college degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field. Advanced Degree preferred. - Twenty (20) years of progressive experience leading and transforming data engineering and analytics teams in a growth-oriented environment. - Five (5) years specifically focused on enterprise data platforms, Lakehouse and cloud-native data architectures, and large-scale data engineering programs. - Demonstrated experience in implementing automation in engineering workflows. - Demonstrated automations in multi-cloud architecture environments. - Relevant certifications preferred, not required (e.g., Amazon Web Services (AWS), Databricks, Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Project Management Professional (PMP)). - Demonstrated record of strong interpersonal skills and building relationships. - Demonstrated record of goal achievement and exceeding performance standards. - Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others. - Proven ability to lead enterprise data engineering projects and teams and the development of data and analytics solutions. - Expertise in software development, IT infrastructure, data architecture, and emerging technologies. - Exceptional organizational skills and problem-solving abilities. - Demonstrated experience in cloud data platform migration and cloud-native data engineering. - Proven track record of working with multi-functional, cross-site teams in a remote, complex work environment. - Experience managing budgets and vendor/contract relationships. - Strong understanding of secure data engineering practices, agile development methodologies, and healthcare industry security and privacy regulations like HIPAA, HITECH, and NIST framework. - Demonstrated experience in modernizing legacy data platforms and implementing enterprise-scale data integrations. - Proven ability to manage high-pressure situations with professionalism and discretion. - Strong relationship-building skills to promote collaboration and drive successful outcomes. - Proven ability to build on open-source platforms (e.g., Databricks, AWS, Apache Spark, data build tool (DBT), Airflow, SQL/Python). - Solid written and verbal communication skills. - Strong customer service skills. - Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail. - Understands and connects with the BAYADA culture. Role Description IT@JH Univ Data Analytics & Engineering is seeking a Research Data Engineer II who will support research investigators and Research Leadership across Johns Hopkins University and Johns Hopkins Medicine by designing and deploying complex data architectures and supporting data integration, curation, and analysis. The Research Data Engineer works with cloud lake house environments such as Databricks and Microsoft Fabric, as well as modern ETL tools and Python to manage and support data pipelines for enterprise research data products. Assignments are primarily project-based, involving direct engagement with end-users to understand requirements, facilitate modeling sessions, write business and technical requirements, and implement solutions. Role Description The Data Engineer will support the growth of leading-edge health and human service data projects that use data to transform care across the nation.
