Senior Development Manager
Civix
• Manage, mentor, and grow multiple development squads, including developers, technical leads, and QA professionals. • Oversee individual and team performance through regular feedback, goal setting, and career development plans. • Advocate for coding standards, design patterns, and modern software engineering practices (SOLID principles, secure coding, microservices). • Implement and refine Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) to ensure on-time, high-quality releases. • Lead cloud adoption strategies (AWS preferred), including containerization, microservices, and Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation). • Collaborate with InfoSec to ensure FedRAMP, SOC II, and other regulatory/compliance requirements are met. • Act as a primary engineering liaison across Product, Customer Success, and Implementation to align feature development with delivery readiness. • Utilize Azure DevOps (ADO), dashboards, and other tools to track team velocity, code quality, and project health. • Provide regular updates to stakeholders and executives on project status, risks, and outcomes.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of management or leadership experience overseeing multiple squads/teams in a software development environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Strong background in .NET Framework/Core development and Java.
- Experience with React/Angular front-end technologies, SQL databases, and containerized applications.
- Familiarity with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, CloudFormation, etc.) and microservices architecture.
- Exposure to GovTech or highly regulated industries where FedRAMP, SOC II, or CJIS compliance is relevant.
- Demonstrated success implementing Agile processes, automated testing (MABL, Selenium, or similar), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proven ability to mentor and motivate distributed, remote teams.
- Hands-on experience or managerial oversight in modernizing legacy .NET applications, moving from monolithic to microservices and container-based architectures.
- Experience working in a customer delivery-focused organization, where engineering work directly supports implementation milestones or regulatory deadlines.
