Site Works Project Coordinator
General Electric - GE
Role Description In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the site works commodity managers by achieving a highly competitive bid environment via supplier identification, development and selection, contract price and terms negotiations to ensure cost effective and reliable site works supply chain for GEV. This role is responsible for supporting the organization and maintenance of project site files and documents/managing electronic document databases. - Work closely with Site Works Commodity Managers on commercial bids to align on commodity strategy, ensuring contractor evaluation and selection is completed in tender stage. - Support RFQ package creation, review, and distribution to contractors. - Perform comprehensive review and analysis of electrical/mechanical contractor proposal packages. - Support scheduling of project specific weekly/monthly contractor status calls and log detailed meeting minutes. - Provide detailed project status updates to Site Works Commodity Manager. - Collaborate with internal teams to expedite review and validation of RFIs and overall contractor packages. - Collaborate with GE contract managers to review and refine contractor terms and conditions. - Support negotiation of contractor proposal pricing, NDAs/MNDAs and master service agreements as well as project-specific agreements for civil and electrical project scopes. - Drive KPIs: Deflation, DTP, Quality, Compliance, OTD. - Support the sourcing and development of certified minority, veteran-owned, women-owned, and small business suppliers to achieve customer requirements. - Ensure compliance with GE sourcing policies and procedures. - Occasional travel for on-site contractor audits. - Support the contractor onboarding process. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college. - Minimum of 3 years of experience in a major construction project environment. - Minimum of 3 years of experience in pre-construction and/or construction estimating. Requirements - Ability and willingness to travel domestic & internationally 10% of the time. Must comply with all relevant company travel and tax policies. - Legal authorization to work in the U.S. and Canada is required. Desired Characteristics - Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, civil engineering, construction management, or related technical discipline. - Proven project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deliver results on time and in budget. - Strong oral and written communication skills. - Negotiation expertise. - Strategic thinker / planner. - Strong quantitative and analytical skills. - Able to develop a strategy and drive execution in a matrixed environment.
