Payroll Specialist II
The Renaissance Network, Inc.
• Coordinate payroll processing and compile confidential payroll data such as hours worked, commissions, taxes, insurance, garnishments and other deductions to be withheld • Compute wages and deductions and post to payroll records • Address and resolve employee’s payroll inquiries • Promote employee awareness of company benefits and policies • Produce ad hoc, and monthly report requests • Journal Entry preparation • Tax filing/maintenance – including registering for new jurisdictions • Update UKG Pro (payroll provider) with Tax Jurisdiction changes
Job Requirements
- Proven experience in a payroll position in a fast-paced environment required
- Understanding of wage and tax laws
- Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications
- Exceptional multitasking and organizational skills
- Able to perform work effectively with minimal supervision
- Experience with UKG Pro a plus
- Global payroll experience (Australia, Canada, UK) a plus

• Compliance & Vendor Oversight: Oversee the timely and accurate filing of all federal, state, provincial, and local payroll tax returns—including Form 940, Form 941, Form W-2, and Canada Forms—by our outsourced payroll and settlement vendors. • Account Reconciliation & Auditing: Perform regular plausibility audits and reconciliations of employee and employer payroll tax setups to identify and resolve discrepancies, while completing tax returns and requesting payments for Canada Workers' Compensation and other agency-related taxes. • Agency Liaison & Problem Resolution: Act as the primary point of contact for tax authorities to handle notices, audits, and new tax identification number registrations, while directly addressing executive escalations and stakeholder inquiries. • System Optimization: Partner with internal teams and our tax preparer to thoroughly test and implement mandatory tax updates within our Workday payroll system. • Reporting & Strategic Support: Prepare periodic trend reports regarding tax liabilities and potential financial impacts for senior management, while supporting corporate activities such as mergers and acquisitions.
