Job Description
COO for US DTC Company
Paired
Role Description This is a hands-on COO role, not a strategy-deck role. We need an operator who takes full ownership across all teams, makes sure things actually get done, holds people accountable, and rolls up their sleeves to do it themselves when needed. You’ll report directly to the CEO and co-founder, take operations off their plate piece by piece, and grow into full company-wide operational ownership. The goal is simple: the founders focus on vision, brand, and growth, while you make sure the entire machine runs smoothly end to end. What You’ll Own - Supply Chain & Sourcing: Supplier relationships and negotiations, COGS optimization, lead times, inventory planning, demand forecasting, reducing single-supplier dependency. - Product Operations: Driving new product development speed and quality, ensuring compliance (labels, washing tags, legal requirements), feeding return and customer data into product improvement. - Fulfillment & Logistics: Delivery performance, 3PL and warehouse management across regions, shipping cost control, Q4 peak planning. - Customer Experience: Support operations, CSAT, returns, refunds, chargeback and dispute handling. - Finance & Data: P&L oversight, SKU-level profitability, cash flow visibility, working with accountants, building operational reporting. - Systems & Automation: Tool consolidation, workflow automation, SOPs, AI-driven process optimization. - People & HR Ops: Hiring, onboarding, team structure, contractor management, accountability across departments. - Front-End Coordination: Ensuring the operational side of marketing (website backend, tracking, integrations, CRO infrastructure) runs smoothly and coordinates cleanly with the founders’ paid acquisition and brand work. - Legal & Compliance: Overseeing IP and brand protection, contracts, and regulatory compliance across markets (with external counsel). Qualifications - Young, hungry, and flexible: a machine and a true operator who wants to build, not just delegate. - Genuinely cross-functional: you’ve owned supply chain AND fulfillment AND CX AND finance/systems, not just one specialty. - Experience at a similar-size DTC/e-commerce brand (8-9 figure revenue) is a must. - Hands-on and execution-driven: you spot problems before they’re raised and fix them, doing it yourself when needed. - Strong at holding teams and external partners (suppliers, agencies) accountable. - Systems thinker who builds processes that scale, not just firefights. - Fluent English, comfortable working across US and EU time zones. - Direct, no-nonsense, transparent communicator. - Self-directed: thrives with autonomy, doesn’t need hand-holding. - Not a fit: the cocky, 20-years-experience type who only tells people what to do and won’t get into the work themselves. We want someone with real experience who still loves rolling up their sleeves. Nice to Have - Experience with China-based manufacturing and supplier management. - Multi-market operations (US + EU + AU) and cross-border logistics. - Finance or consulting background with real operational execution. - Experience scaling a business through rapid growth. Benefits - High-impact role with real ownership and autonomy. - Direct partnership with the founders. - Fast-moving, high-growth environment with room to build. - Performance-based bonus on top of base, tied to clear KPIs. - Growth path into full COO ownership. Location - Remote. LatAm preferred (strong operator talent, US-timezone friendly), Europe also possible. Compensation - Flexible depending on location, experience, and overall package. - Base plus performance bonus for the right senior operator. The package is built around the individual.
