• As a Network Engineer on the Global Sensor Network (GSN) Operations team, you will help deploy, maintain, secure, and evolve the networks powering Slingshot’s remote sensor infrastructure around the world. • You’ll serve as a key technical escalation point for site connectivity and infrastructure issues while helping define the future-state architecture for scalable, resilient, and secure remote operations. • This role sits at the intersection of networking, infrastructure, operations, and cybersecurity—supporting mission-critical environments that enable real-time space domain awareness and global sensor operations.

• Assist with and eventually independently execute deployment of enterprise network infrastructure solutions • Configure and support routing, switching, wireless, firewall, and VPN technologies • Participate in network migrations, hardware refreshes, and infrastructure modernization projects • Support staging, validation, and testing of customer solutions prior to production deployment • Participate in after-hours maintenance windows and production cutovers as required • Troubleshoot network connectivity, routing, switching, wireless, and security-related issues • Support escalation activities during project implementations and customer incidents • Perform root cause analysis and assist with remediation planning • Work collaboratively with senior engineers, project managers, and technical leads • Create and maintain implementation documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures • Support continuous improvement of delivery standards, deployment processes, and operational workflows

Role Description Marqeta is seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer to join the Network File Integration team. In this role, you will help design and deliver scalable software solutions for batch and event driven processing of card network settlement and transaction data. You will own and deliver projects in service of quarterly goals on the team and independently identify solutions to solve ambiguous, open-ended problems. Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in software or data engineering, ideally in payments or financial services processing. - A strong passion to write code with high quality and test coverage. - Experience developing in Java and/or Python; however, we welcome experience in other programming languages. - Experience with batch data processing using query engines such as Athena, Trino/Presto. - Experience designing, building, and scaling batch and event processing solutions. - Experience making technical trade-offs and navigating technical complexities. - Experience mentoring other Engineers. - Demonstrated ability to quickly identify root causes of production issues and recommend or implement improvements. - The ability to demonstrate humility, empathy, and to take constructive feedback positively. - A desire to grow in your career, learn, share ideas and help others grow and learn. - Demonstrated experience working productively on cross-functional teams and taking a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
