Senior Azure Cloud, DevOps Engineer

• Own Client’s Azure environment and DevOps practices end to end. • Design, build, and manage Client’s Azure cloud environment — subscriptions, landing zones, resource groups, governance policies, and cost management. • Contribute to modernization strategy and technology selection. • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines. • Develop and own the container and Kubernetes strategy. • Containerize workloads using Docker. • Write and maintain Infrastructure as Code. • Manage Azure platform services. • Administer Azure identity and access. • Support and troubleshoot Windows Server and Linux systems. • Collaborate with the infrastructure team on Azure networking components. • Own cloud and application monitoring. • Implement and enforce cloud security best practices. • Automate operational tasks through scripting and tooling. • Document architecture decisions, pipeline designs, runbooks, and standards.

Job Requirements

  • 5–7+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure.
  • Experience evaluating and recommending application frameworks, runtime stacks, and web server technologies in the context of cloud and containerized deployments.
  • Solid experience with Infrastructure as Code.
  • Hands-on experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Working experience with Kubernetes and Docker in production environments.
  • Experience deploying and managing on-prem Kubernetes clusters and containerized workloads.
  • Familiarity with modern application stacks — Node.js, Spring Boot, .NET, NGINX, or similar.
  • Strong Linux and Windows Server skills as they relate to cloud and container environments.
  • Experience with Azure platform services.
  • Familiarity with Azure identity and governance.
  • Working knowledge of Azure networking.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability platforms.
  • Proficiency with scripting and automation.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with Git-based workflows and branching strategies.
  • Strong communication skills.

Role Description We are seeking a Sr. DevOps Engineer to join our infrastructure team supporting critical systems at USCIS, where you’ll tackle complex technical challenges and build automated solutions that matter. As a Sr. DevOps Engineer you will mentor fellow engineers, architect scalable infrastructure solutions, and work alongside a collaborative DevOps team supporting 14 development teams.
