• Design and implement multi-regional resilient infrastructure capable of handling millions of concurrent sessions and transactions daily across global data centers • Lead the hybrid cloud migration strategy, integrating bare-metal datacenter resources with cloud services for optimal performance and cost efficiency • Own the on-call rotation and incident response procedures, ensuring rapid resolution of critical system issues and maintaining high availability SLAs • Architect monitoring and alerting systems using industry-standard tools to proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks before they impact users • Collaborate with development teams to implement infrastructure-as-code practices and establish deployment pipelines that support continuous integration and delivery • Optimize system performance through capacity planning, load testing, and resource allocation across distributed computing environments • Establish and maintain security protocols and risk assessment procedures for infrastructure components and data protection • Partner with engineering teams to design scalable solutions for high-traffic applications and real-time processing requirements • Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual operational overhead and improve system reliability through scripting and configuration management • Mentor team members on SRE best practices and contribute to the development of infrastructure standards and documentation

Role Description Adjunct faculty serve as temporary part-time faculty and are appointed as needed on a semester-by-semester basis. The primary duty is effective teaching of college-level courses and/or labs in the qualified discipline. • Chess.com Video Editors are responsible for producing high-quality, engaging chess content for a variety of digital platforms. • Edit and assemble raw video footage into polished short-form and long-form content optimized for various social media platforms (e.g., YouTube, TikTok, Instagram) • Enhance video content through skillful application of motion graphics, cuts, transitions, color correction, audio mixing, visual effects, and graphic overlays • Research and incorporate current social media trends and innovative editing techniques to keep content fresh and relevant • Review raw footage from tournaments and streams to identify key storylines, viral moments, and compelling highlights for standalone content • Analyze video performance metrics to refine editing style, pacing, and storytelling approaches for maximum audience impact and retention • Ensure all final video assets align with Chess.com's brand guidelines, visual aesthetics, and consistent tone of voice • Maintain flexibility in your schedule, including off-hours and weekends

• Own Chess.com's competitive event ecosystem — from marquee online properties like the Speed Chess Championship to Titled Tuesday to our broadcast coverage of major events like the World Chess Championship. • Help set the annual calendar, the quality bar, and the strategic direction for the full portfolio. • Run our broadcast operation with the precision and production quality of a top-tier sports network. • Oversee the competitive programming strategy: which events do we own and produce? Which do we cover and broadcast? Where do we invest in new formats? How do we grow the audience for competitive chess online? • Manage a selective portfolio of in-person events. These are high-impact, not high-volume — a handful of tentpole moments per year that extend our brand into the physical world. • Own the commercial strategy for our events, and drive brand partnerships across Chess.com's broader product portfolio.
