We’re not about selling products - we want to solve problems and change lives through Monzo ❤️ As part of our Financial Control Team, you’ll be managing a small team of Monzonauts day-to-day to ensure our month-end reporting process runs smoothly and accurately. You’ll work on scaling Monzo in a controlled way while helping us optimize our financial control processes with the help of technology. Qualifications - You’re a qualified accountant with several years’ experience managing financial reporting/controlling teams in a retail banking environment. - You have a great eye for detail. - You’re fascinated by the banking and regulatory landscape and understand key financial controls. - You’re a self-starter who enjoys tackling various tasks. - You can translate complex information into simple terms for diverse audiences. - You’re interested in using data (SQL skills would be a bonus). - You thrive in a dynamic and constantly evolving environment. Requirements - Support the team with their tasks and review their work. - Manage a tight process with the internal finance team for a swift and accurate month-end financial close. - Understand the business and products to write insightful management commentary. - Work with engineers and data teams to automate production elements of the team’s role. - Ensure financial reporting policies, procedures, and controls are up to date and scalable. - Support the full year-end process, including drafting the annual report and working with external auditors. - Review new products and assess their accounting impact. - Work closely with the Treasury team and Product Controller. - Resolve miscellaneous inquiries and support the overall finance team as needed.
