Business Operations is leading the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) transformation at Mastercard through our tooling and by advocating for change and standards across development, quality, release, and product organizations. Experience working across development, operations, and product teams to prioritize needs and build strong relationships is essential. Our team's Mission: The role of Business Operations is to act as the production readiness steward for the platform. This is achieved by partnering closely with developers to design, build, implement, and support technology services. A Business Operations engineer ensures that operational criteria such as system availability, capacity, performance, monitoring, self-healing, and deployment automation are embedded throughout the delivery process. We drive this transformation through daily operations with a strong focus on triage and root cause analysis, while understanding the business impact of our products. The goal is to shift left-becoming more proactive earlier in the development process-and to effectively manage production and change activities to enhance customer experience and maximize application value. BizOps teams also focus on risk management, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation across all environments. There is a strong emphasis on streamlining and standardizing support activities, as well as centralizing interactions with internal and external partners through effective communication. Ultimately, BizOps aligns product and customer-focused priorities with operational needs, continuously reviewing performance and providing feedback to development teams to improve customer experience.
