Payroll Tax Specialist

Role Description Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager, you would join a team of 2 members that manages the payroll operations for about 1,000 employees across 42 states within the United States and across 4 pay groups. The position involves overseeing all payroll tax procedures, which can vary in size and complexity, while ensuring strict adherence to policy, compliance, and legislation. Effective communication skills are essential for collaborating with payroll providers, internal business partners, revenue authorities, and other third parties. - Reconciles assigned companies' quarter-to-date and year-to-date wages and taxes to ensure accurate tax reporting. - Monitors all payroll tax activity and is a primary liaison for tax support. - Accountable for detailed analysis of all payrolls or Master data-related entries that impact the accuracy of tax withholding or reporting. - Prepare and submit accurate and timely payroll tax reports to relevant authorities. - Ensure the accuracy, timeliness and completeness of all tax filings, amendments and reporting including W-2s and W-2c’s. - Stay abreast of federal, state, and local tax regulations and ensure compliance in all payroll processes. - Investigate and resolve payroll tax discrepancies or issues promptly. - Provide guidance to internal teams on payroll tax-related matters. - Responsible for recording, monitoring, and resolving all agency tax notices and tracers with 3rd party provider and government agencies, validating all agency responses. - Perform detailed jurisdictional reconciliations for internal and external audits. - Create advanced ad-hoc reporting to support internal and external functions. - Lead Year-End processing and closing. - Approve LATAM & North America payrolls. Qualifications - 4+ years of experience in processing US Payroll AND Payroll tax. - Experience with ADP (EV6 in particular) & ADP Smart Compliance. - Experience with Workday is an added advantage. - Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet tight deadlines. - Good communication skills. - Accuracy and attention to detail. - Demonstrate ability to work independently in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment. Benefits - The salary range for this role in North Carolina is between $51,000-$59,000 Annual. - Your final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to location, work experience, skills, knowledge, education and/or certifications.
