We’re hiring a Senior People Data Scientist (L5) to serve as an enterprise-wide people analytics thought partner—blending data engineering, analytics, consulting, and data product ownership. You will own complex, multi-quarter analytical workstreams, shape company-level people metrics, and help leaders at all levels use data to make better, more equitable decisions about our workforce. This is a high-visibility IC role with significant exposure to senior HR and business leaders, ideal for someone who is equally comfortable in Snowflake, extracting insights from employee data, executive-level storytelling, and in shaping how HR and business leaders across Instacart use data at scale. Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in analytics, data science, business intelligence, or a closely related field, with at least 2–3+ years in People Analytics / HR data (HCM, recruiting, comp, retention, DEI, engagement, or workforce planning). - Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or relevant field (e.g., Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Computer Science) or equivalent practical experience. Requirements - Experience designing and maintaining executive-facing dashboards and data products in a BI tool (e.g., OneModel, Tableau, Looker), including metric design, documentation, and stakeholder enablement/training. - Advanced proficiency in SQL and experience with a modern cloud data warehouse such as Snowflake, including working with large, complex datasets, performance-tuned queries, building data pipelines, and developing analytics-ready models. - Demonstrated ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear stories and actionable insights for HR/business leaders, including writing talking points and delivering live presentations. - Demonstrated expertise in multivariate analysis, including the design and interpretation of regression models, comparison testing, and natural language processing techniques applied to large-scale text data. - Strong foundation in research methodology and psychometrics, with the ability to design, validate, and interpret survey instruments and other qualitative measures with rigor. - Experience handling sensitive HR data with strong judgment around privacy, security, and role-based access controls. Role Description Goldbelt Professional Services, LLC is seeking a Health Scientist I to work within the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (NCIRD), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This work will be performed at the CDC Roybal Campus in Atlanta, GA. The Health Scientist I will report to Goldbelt Professional Services leadership to ensure the execution of timely, high-quality deliverables for the client. The Health Scientist shall serve as a representative for a comprehensive public health program providing substantive data management leadership, data analysis consultation, database design guidance, and assistance, and be responsible for implementation and support of surveillance and other public health program activities in Federal, local, and state settings. Responsibilities - Lead and/or participate in operational or planning meetings to promote data management activities (e.g., data entry, data validation) and gain support and cooperation. - Assist with developing strategies for program promotion, education, communication, and outreach in collaboration with others. - Plan and coordinate program activities (e.g., manage surveillance data by using SAS), including: - Program implementation (e.g., develop and apply code to test logical and physical database designs and database conversions). - Service delivery (e.g., create tables, queries, forms, and reports in HL7 tables/views). - Assessment (e.g., reports for use in evaluating program operations). - Surveillance (e.g., create and modify SAS programs). - Data quality assurance, partnerships and collaborations, outreach, orientation, training, evaluation, and reporting to ensure surveillance and epidemiologic program and project success. - Manage, analyze, and evaluate public health data and surveillance databases. - Collect and analyze data from existing or proposed systems, strategies, services, or other data sources to address complex program needs. - Prepare reports for use in evaluating system operations and other work incidental to the implementation, development, and evaluation of the surveillance system. - Monitor and conduct assessments and compliance reviews for program compliance requirements; negotiate and implement corrective actions as needed. - Prepare reports of findings, evaluations, and recommendations in terms of strategies, services, and resources. - Develop, implement, and monitor performance evaluation and tracking systems (e.g., maintaining data-correction logbooks and/or files). - Evaluate and analyze data collection, utilization methods, and quality control. - Perform data analyses as part of a public health program utilizing statistical techniques commonly used in epidemiologic evaluations. - Consult and collaborate with health-related agencies and other public health partners. - Provide scientific advice and technical assistance (e.g., write business requirements for surveillance data systems) to health-related agencies and other public health partners. - Participate in the syntheses of surveillance and epidemiologic data for application toward designing effective prevention programs and practice guidelines. Requirements - Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Sciences Research, or a related field. - Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience. - Clinical or public health background with experience communicating, coordinating, and working with public health programs. - Experience conducting a systematic assessment of a program or project’s inputs, activities, and outputs. - Experience developing an evaluation plan, identifying evaluation questions and indicators, collecting, and analyzing quantitative and qualitative program data. - Experience developing a program logic model, identifying appropriate program outcomes, facilitating stakeholder meetings, and providing technical assistance or training on evaluation methods. - Experience performing data analyses as part of a public health program. - Experience providing substantive data management leadership, data analysis consultation, database design guidance. - Ability to obtain and maintain CDC Clearance. • Develop and deploy Natural Language Processing (NLP) models to extract insights from unstructured textual data. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities and develop strategies for applying NLP techniques to enhance quality analytics. • Design and implement data pre-processing and feature engineering techniques for NLP tasks. • Utilize supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques to solve complex NLP problems. • Evaluate and fine-tune models for performance optimization, accuracy, and efficiency. • Contribute maintainable code to existing and new pipelines. • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in NLP and contribute to the continuous improvement of methodologies and algorithms. • Communicate findings, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

• Identify deficiencies in risk segmentation and build predictive models (GLMs, GBMs, etc.) to support rating revisions. • Develop models to assess the impact of pricing changes on conversion, churn, and profitability. • Revise rating for territories and breed groups using modern machine learning approaches. • Review pricing for limits and copays using traditional increased limit and deductible discount factors. • Forecast key financial metrics such as policyholder churn, written premium, and claim volumes. • Write SQL queries to support ad hoc data requests from stakeholders across the business and support pricing datasets. • Estimate impact of coverage and product changes on pricing. • Support rate indications and regulatory filings as needed. • Other duties as assigned.
