Job Description

Executive Creative Director

CNC Agency

Role Description We are seeking an Executive Creative Director (ECD) to lead the creative vision, strategy, and execution for a flagship client with a $10M+ annual portfolio. This role is responsible for defining the long-term experiential vision for the brand, ensuring creative excellence across a diverse range of programs, and driving innovation, consistency, and business growth at scale. Operating as the senior-most creative leader on the account, the ECD partners closely with executive client stakeholders and internal leadership to shape not only what gets made, but why it matters. This role balances visionary thinking with operational rigor, ensuring that large-scale, multi-market programs are cohesive, effective, and future-forward. Success in this role requires a combination of creative authority, strategic acumen, organizational leadership, and the ability to influence at the highest levels, both internally and client-side. Responsibilities - Define and own the long-term creative vision for the client across all experiential programs, platforms, and markets. - Ensure a cohesive brand experience across the full portfolio, spanning events, environments, content, digital, and hybrid activations. - Establish and evolve creative frameworks, toolkits, and systems that enable consistency across regions while allowing for local nuance. - Drive innovation by identifying emerging trends, technologies, and cultural opportunities relevant to the brand. - Serve as the senior creative partner to C-suite and senior marketing leaders on the client side. - Lead high-stakes presentations, vision-setting sessions, and annual planning engagements. - Influence upstream decision-making, helping shape briefs, investment priorities, and the overall experiential roadmap. - Oversee a large, multi-program portfolio simultaneously, ensuring alignment, prioritization, and creative consistency. - Guide Creative Directors across workstreams, providing direction at key inflection points rather than day-to-day oversight. - Ensure that flagship moments and tentpole activations set the creative benchmark for the broader program ecosystem. - Establish governance models, communication rhythms, and review processes to maintain quality at scale. - Contribute to account growth strategy, identifying opportunities to expand scope, introduce new capabilities, and deepen engagement. - Partner with Account and Production leadership to align creative ambition with financial realities, ensuring work is both impactful and sustainable. - Play a key role in renewals, upsells, and incremental program development. - Set the creative bar for the entire account, ensuring all work meets a high standard of craft, storytelling, and effectiveness. - Review and approve major creative outputs, focusing on high-impact moments and systemic consistency. - Intervene strategically to solve complex creative or organizational challenges. - Lead and mentor senior creative leadership (ACDs, CDs), fostering a high-performing, collaborative culture. - Champion a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. - Represent the agency and client work externally through speaking engagements, awards, and industry contributions. - Help position the agency as a leader in large-scale, multi-market experiential marketing. Qualifications - 12-15+ years of experience in experiential, environmental, or integrated creative roles, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or Creative Director-level position. - Proven ability to define and lead large-scale experiential creative vision across multi-year, multi-market programs. - Strong executive presence, with experience influencing C-suite clients and leading high-stakes presentations. - Extensive experience managing complex portfolios ($10M+), ensuring creative excellence at scale. - Deep understanding of brand strategy, storytelling, and audience engagement across physical and digital environments. - Demonstrated success leading and mentoring senior creative leaders (ACDs, CDs) across distributed teams. - Expertise in balancing creative ambition with production realities, including budget, timelines, and feasibility. - Experience driving cross-functional alignment across Strategy, Account, Production, and Technology. - Proven track record contributing to account growth, client retention, and new business opportunities. - Strong knowledge of experiential production, fabrication, AV, and digital integration. Salary The salary range for this role is $XXX to $XXX. Where a candidate falls within this band will depend on a combination of factors, including relevant experience, demonstrated performance, specific skills, geographical location, and internal equity. We regularly benchmark roles to market data and ensure pay is aligned with the role’s scope and impact. Equal Opportunity Employer At CNC Agency, great ideas come from diverse perspectives. We’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer and are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone can bring their full selves to work.
