Hybrid| Danville, KY | Part-Time Position Overview We are seeking a Health Information Specialist to support front desk operations and Release of Information (ROI) services at two healthcare locations in Danville, KY.This is a hybrid role, combining on-site, patient-facing responsibilities with remote work as business needs allow. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the timely, accurate, and compliant handling of medical record requests. It is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with patients, is detail-oriented, and is interested in long-term growth within a healthcare organization. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Serve as the front desk point of contact for patient walk-ins requesting medical records or releases - Provide phone support to patients, providers, and authorized requestors - Process Release of Information (ROI) requests accurately and timely - Fax, scan, and manage incoming and outgoing medical record requests - Burn medical images to CDs and share images electronically as required - Support client relationship management through professional communication - Assist with reporting and administrative duties such as data entry and email - Ensure compliance with HIPAA, privacy regulations, and facility policies Travel / Site Coverage Requirements This is a hybrid role supporting two sites. The specialist will: - Be onsite 2 days per week for mail sorting and loading of requests - Work within the HIM departments at both facilities Training & Onboarding - VROI training provided - On-the-job, onsite training during the first 30 days Skills - Strong customer service and communication skills - Comfortable working in a patient-facing, front desk environment - Detail-oriented with the ability to manage confidential information - Reliable, punctual, and professional - Ability to multitask and work independently Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED required - Must be 18 years of age or older To ensure the safety of patients and staff, many of our clients require post-offer health screenings and proof and/or completion of various vaccinations such as the flu shot, Tdap, COVID-19, etc. Any requests to be exempted from these requirements will be reviewed by Datavant Human Resources and determined on a case-by-case basis.
