Role Description This role has been designated as ‘Remote/Teleworker’, which means you will primarily work from home. As a Resident Engineer, you will deliver reactive and proactive activities according to Service Level Agreement to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty. Provides direct post-sales systems on-site technical support for reactive and proactive customers. Each position maintains a high level of customer satisfaction by ensuring clear business and technical solution alignment, clarifying customer needs and ensuring that they are met. Jobs are responsible for company Total Customer Experience as well as the revenue growth, profitability, and account retention. Role Responsibilities: - Hold network information gathering workshops with the Customer to understand the Customer’s existing network design and technical requirements of new network designs. - Understand the Customer’s organizational structure and become familiar with the Customer’s network implementation and support processes and procedures. - Carry out testing of new Designs, features, and functionality as required by the Customer in a laboratory environment. - Test patches and fixes to operating software and ensure that they are implemented and functioning correctly. - Troubleshoot equipment and network problems and open and track JTAC cases. - Raise equipment Return Material Authorizations (RMA’s) and track these through to problem resolution. - Produce a written summary report of the status of Design projects, equipment and network problems regularly to the Customer. - Hold technology workshops with the Customer to discuss equipment and network problems. - Train the Customer’s design, implementation, and support personnel to configure and operate the Juniper Networks products. - Assist the Customer in developing Network Operating and Equipment Operating Procedures. - Support the production environment of Juniper products within the Customer infrastructure. - Support ongoing efforts in defining best practice policies for Juniper product applications used by Customer. - Peer with other employees performing similar resident engineering roles. - Develop secondary skills in other products in the Juniper product portfolio. Qualifications - Experience with MIST design and/or deployment of routing and switching products within the Customer infrastructure. - Mist Wireless assurance experience. - Working knowledge to support use of the Mist API/Web UI. - Experience in Juniper Campus Fabric Designs using Mist. - Apstra experience. - Minimum 5 years of design, implementation, and operational experience in large-scale IP networks. - JUNOS CLI experience. - Large-scale experience with QFX, EX, PTX switching and routing. - Prior work experience at a large enterprise or a Data Center with EVPN/VXLAN experience. - Experience with core routing BGP (eBGP and iBGP) and OSPF protocols. - Background in automation with Ansible, YAML, and Juniper PyEZ. - Experience writing automation scripts in Python. - Ability to communicate effectively in crises with all levels of an organization. - Ability to refine and translate complex requirements and execute best practice solutions. - Assisted with major network upgrades, maintenance windows, and changes in the customer network. - Strong customer interface and presentation skills. - Other tasks and duties as needed to support the customer and/or business. Requirements - Technical Certifications: JNCIS‑MistAI, Wireless, JNCIP‑MistAI. - Ensure certifications are supported by demonstrable hands-on, practical operational experience with Mist access points (APs), Marvis AI, edge devices, and the Mist web-based UI. - Experience and expertise in providing or assisting with the preparation of Juniper equipment configurations and validation of configurations. - Development and maintenance of fault diagnosis procedures to support effective fault resolution. - Development and maintenance of network operational support procedures related to the Juniper products. - Assessing the health of a network based on Juniper products. - Network related testing to ensure that the Juniper products operate correctly. - Implementation, integration & migration planning. - Validation and upgrade testing of the Juniper products. - Troubleshooting of network issues. - Basic automation knowledge encompassing YAML and JSON templates plus Juniper PyEZ. - Ongoing, informal, knowledge transfer related to Juniper products. - Assisting JTAC with open JTAC cases. - Submission of problem reports acting as a technical liaison with Juniper Customer Service and Engineering groups.
