Our award-winning products help our global community gain a deeper knowledge of their readiness, activity, and sleep quality by using their Oura Ring and its connected app. We've helped millions of people understand and improve their health by providing daily insights and practical steps to inspire healthy lifestyles. Empowering the world starts with living our values and empowering our team. As a quickly growing company focused on helping people live healthier and happier lives, we ensure that our team members have what they need to do their best work — both in and out of the office. We’re looking for an experienced, San Francisco based Senior Content Designer who’s excited to work at the intersection of in-app wellbeing and health guidance, physiology and behavior science, and AI. An ideal candidate can write and prompt with heart and quality, is passionate about sustainable wellbeing, and sees AI not as a shortcut, but as a creative partner. This is a unique opportunity to shape how Oura communicates with its members around the world with clarity, empathy, and care. About This Role As a Senior Content Designer at Oura, you’ll work across teams and disciplines to design in-app guidance that makes our health and wellbeing insights feel human, personal, and actionable. You’ll also help evolve how AI contributes to that experience by designing prompts, refining outputs, and ensuring Oura’s voice and values carry through every interaction. You’ll collaborate closely with product design, product management, science and clinical, legal, regulatory, engineering, user research, and localization teams to create consistent, globally resonant in-app guidance mainly in our iOS and Android apps. You'll be both a content designer and a systems thinker, helping shape how language supports our members at scale, but meeting each member as they are, where they are. You'll be joining a Content Design team spread across Finland, the UK, and the greater New York area. This is a hybrid role: we anticipate that you’ll come work with the team in our San Francisco office regularly, but also allow home office days. What You’ll Do - Create thoughtful, creative and concise English in-app guidance that helps our members understand and act on their health data, one example being the balance between activity and recovery. - Co-create with AI, integrating it into your writing process in a way that’s purposeful and creative. - Work together with our feature squads in content design all the way from feature discovery work to in-app copy implementation, driving relevant review and approval processes. - Lead content design processes for your designated features, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure clarity and consistency in our guidance across touchpoints. - Advocate for Oura’s signature health philosophy that’s rooted in the Nordics, and secure our epitome tone of voice across both human- and AI-generated content. What We Are Looking For - 5+ years of proven hands-on content design / UX writing experience, preferably in the field of health and/or wellness communications. - A strong understanding of tone, clarity, and emotional nuance in digital products, and the ability to work within established brand guidelines. - Demonstrated experience using AI or LLMs as creative tools whether for prompting, prototyping, or scaling. - Project management skills, capability to lead your own work streams, and experience in successful stakeholder communications. - Curiosity and openness: you’re someone who learns fast, iterates often, and collaborates well across disciplines. - Teamwork spirit and ability to collaborate in remote work environments. Due to time zones, this role is ideal for early morning types, and may not be healthy for night owls. - A genuine passion for helping people live better, healthier lives through accessible technology and compassionate language. Bonus Points For - Background in health, behavioral science, or related domains. - Experience in writing for multilingual or global audiences. - Familiarity with UX research methods or user testing of content.
