Role Description We Don't Need a Video Editor. We Need a Performance Creative Machine Who Makes Ads That Print Money. Most video editors make pretty videos. You'll make ads that stop the scroll and scale to millions in spend. You won't be making corporate videos or cinematic masterpieces. You'll be making ads that convert—fast-paced, scroll-stopping content that turns viewers into buyers. You'll work directly with our Creative Strategists who develop the concepts and hooks. Your job is to bring those concepts to life with edits that hit hard in the first second and keep people watching. We test a lot of creative. That means volume matters. You need to be fast without sacrificing quality—and smart enough to know which details matter and which don't. What You'll Do - Edit direct response video ads for Meta, TikTok, and other platforms - Transform raw UGC footage, b-roll, and assets into high-converting ads - Execute on creative briefs from our Creative Strategists - Produce multiple ad variations and iterations quickly - Add motion graphics, text overlays, captions, and sound design - Maintain organized project files and asset libraries - Hit deadlines consistently—we move fast - Learn from performance data and apply insights to future edits Qualifications - 2+ years of video editing experience - Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or CapCut - Portfolio of direct response or social media ads you've edited - Understanding of what makes content work on Meta/TikTok (pacing, hooks, trends) - Ability to work fast without sacrificing quality - Experience with motion graphics and text animation - Strong attention to detail—audio sync, color, pacing all matter Bonus Points - Experience editing for DTC/e-commerce brands - After Effects skills for motion graphics - Understanding of direct response principles - You've edited ads that actually scaled - Experience with UGC-style content This Role Is NOT For... - Editors who only know cinematic/narrative work - Those who can't handle high volume and fast turnarounds - Anyone who needs hand-holding on every edit - People who take feedback personally instead of professionally - Editors who think the algorithm is wrong when an ad doesn't perform Compensation & Benefits - Monthly Salary: $1,000/month - Monthly performance bonuses tied to company Operating Profit (5-25% of salary) - Quarterly profit pool distribution (2-7.5% of company profits shared among team) - Remote-first environment - Work with a team of A-players who actually give a damn - Direct founder access—no layers of bureaucracy - Real ownership of your domain—we don't micromanage Our Hiring Process - Step 1: Application (You're here!) - Step 2: Initial Interview with Founder - Step 3: Internal Assessment by Rescale - Step 4: WhatsApp update for next steps - Step 5: Signing of Independent Contractor and NDA - Step 6: Onboarding and Training Total timeline: 1 week from application to offer. P.S. Our best-performing ads aren't the most polished—they're the ones that hook in the first second and don't let go. If you understand why a rough UGC edit can outperform a cinematic masterpiece, we should talk. P.P.S. If you're reading this far, you're already more thorough than 90% of applicants. That's exactly who we want.
