Underwriting Counsel, NJ/PA
Ardán®
• Provides underwriting support and authorization to company personnel, agents, and customer(s) • Examine title orders within company guidelines • Research respective title plant software and analyze pertinent record documents • Explain chain of title, exceptions, and requirements to customers and managers • Recognize title defects and formulate curative solutions • Assess risks and liabilities and bring these matters to attention • Review surveys prepared on properties, if applicable • Work closely with the customer and escrow staff to meet time requirements
Job Requirements
- 5+ years title underwriting experience
- Must be familiar with real estate law
- Strong understanding of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of real estate title and settlement process
- General knowledge of Federal and State regulations related to real estate title insurance and settlement services
- General understanding of underwriting real estate transactions for the issuance of title insurance policies
- Ability to collaborate and act decisively
- Detail oriented
