Our technology must be a selling feature. This role exists to ensure our architectures enable faster solution deployment, easier maintenance, greater reuse, and demonstrable client value positioning Conduent as a technology‑led services provider. Responsibilities - Enterprise & Long‑Term Architectural Strategy - Partner with the Chief Technical Architect to define and evolve Conduent’s multi‑year architectural vision across platforms, products, and client solutions. - Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and architectural paradigms to ensure Conduent adopts capabilities that improve speed, resilience, maintainability, and cost efficiency. - Drive architectural decisions that emphasize composable, modular, and reusable platform components, enabling rapid solution assembly and adaptation across clients. - Balance near‑term delivery needs with long‑term sustainability, ensuring architectures avoid vendor lock‑in and excessive technical debt. - Architecture & Platform Leadership - Serve as a principal architect for the design of hybrid (on‑prem + cloud) and multi‑region production architectures supporting large‑scale transaction processing. - Define and refine reference architectures, patterns, and standards used across Commercial solutions. - Ensure architectures are engineered for resiliency, scalability, observability, and operational simplicity. - Act as an escalation point for complex architectural trade studies, risk assessments, and production impact decisions. - Modernization, Composability & AI Adoption - Lead research and technical design for application and platform modernization, including containerization, workload decomposition, and cloud‑native transformation. - Promote architectures that enable composable services, API‑driven integration, and platform reuse, reducing time‑to‑market for new client solutions. - Drive enterprise‑level AI adoption strategy, including GenAI, ML‑driven automation, intelligent document processing, decision engines, and agent‑based workflows. - Ensure AI‑enabled architectures are secure, governed, auditable, and production‑ready, aligning innovation with enterprise guardrails. - Cost Optimization & Economic Sustainability - Design platforms with explicit cost accountability, integrating architectural choices that reduce infrastructure, licensing, and operational overhead. - Lead evaluations of cloud consumption models, deployment patterns, and vendor options to optimize long‑term economics. - Ensure architectural decisions support scalable growth without linear cost increases. - Technology as a Commercial Differentiator - Ensure Conduent’s architectures enable faster client onboarding, easier customization, and repeatable solution delivery. - Support client‑facing and pre‑sales discussions by articulating architectural value clearly and confidently. - Help translate architectural capabilities into clear business outcomes clients can understand and value. - Technical Influence & Governance - Provide technical leadership without direct people management guiding senior engineers, architects, and delivery teams through influence and expertise. - Actively participate in architecture governance, standards review, and decision forums. - Serve as a trusted technical advisor across product, engineering, operations, and commercial leadership. Qualifications - 15+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, platform architecture, or large‑scale systems engineering. - Demonstrated success architecting high‑availability, high‑throughput, mission‑critical production systems. - Deep expertise designing and operating hybrid and cloud‑enabled platforms. - Strong experience driving architectural modernization and composability at enterprise scale. - Proven ability to evaluate and balance resiliency, cost, performance, security, and maintainability. - Ability to communicate complex architectural concepts clearly to technical and executive stakeholders. - Proven experience decomposing monolithic architectures into microservices or modular monoliths. - Ability to provide guidance and best practices to design "bridge" architectures that allow modern cloud modules to communicate securely with remaining on-prem via APIs or Event-Driven buses. Preferred Requirements - Experience supporting transaction processing, BPO, document services, or large‑scale enterprise platforms. - Hands‑on experience designing or integrating AI‑enabled platforms in regulated or production environments. - Experience defining and managing enterprise reference architectures used across multiple solutions or clients. - Background as a Principal, Distinguished, or Lead Architect/Engineer in a complex enterprise. - Experience in establishing Application Architecture Review Board functions, governance/guidance infrastructure and systems, legacy to cloud platform modernization projects. - Deep expertise in at least one major cloud provider (preferably Azure), specifically utilizing PaaS and Serverless offerings to minimize operational overhead. We provide opportunities to advance your career with a vast portfolio of businesses and a global footprint. - Great Work Environment: We are proud of our award-winning culture and the recognition we’ve received for our diversity efforts.
