BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Supplier Quality Engineer with a data driven background in support of Combat Mission Systems, based out of York, Pennsylvania. This is a full-time remote opportunity supported most efficiently with candidates based along the east coast. In this role, the Senior Supplier Quality Engineer investigates, evaluates, and resolves supplier quality problems by conducting audits, analyzing defect trends, and leading continuous improvement projects. The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) conducts capability assessments that verify supplier qualifications, travels (driving, flying) up to 50% to assigned suppliers, and leads multiple projects to completion. This role is a self-starter, problem solver who utilizes analytical skills to find innovative solutions to quality-related issues. A strong communicator, the SQE ensures suppliers understand requirements and expectations, makes progress reports, and presents findings. The SQE utilizes supplier scorecards / metrics and analytical tools to quantify performance levels of individual suppliers and works with suppliers to develop improvement plans to achieve 100% quality performance. Included duties: - Evaluate the impact of nonconforming product and assess suppliers' corrective actions; - Champion problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances; - Perform source inspection of product at supplier locations; - Perform and evaluate First Article Inspections per the requirements of AS9102 as well as train suppliers to meet BAE Systems' expectations; - Drive "Zero Defect" mentality within the supply base. Required Education, Experience, & Skills - Typically requires a Bachelors in an Engineering or Technical discipline with four (4) years related experience, or an Associates with six (6) years experience, or the overall equivalent; - Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 Quality System; - Strong manufacturing experience with preferred APQP and PPAP knowledge; - Auditing experience; - Proven problem solving - Root cause / corrective actions; - Knowledgeable with engineering drawings / GD&T; - Highly effective communication and interactive skills; - Must be a motivated self-starter; - Computer proficiency, including MS Office Suite; - Ability to travel up to 50% from a home-base along the east coast. Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills - Bachelor's Degree and four (4) years related work experience; - Expert level proficiency in Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, Visio (OBIEE, TIPQA, and Oracle a plus) Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $88189 - $149922 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience. • Lead the design, development, and execution of a comprehensive QA strategy aligned with platform goals. • Define and maintain quality standards, best practices, and metrics across projects. • Manage and mentor QA engineers, driving continuous skill development and cross-team collaboration. • Partner with Product, Engineering, and DevOps to integrate QA practices seamlessly into the SDLC. • Promote a culture of early testing, continuous feedback, and quality ownership across teams. • Architect, implement, and maintain scalable, maintainable UI and API automation frameworks using tools like Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium. • Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) for continuous validation. • Oversee planning and execution of all testing types — functional, regression, integration, smoke, and UAT. • Analyze defects and test outcomes to identify patterns and drive systemic quality improvements.

• Strategic Quality Assurance Planning: Collaborate with the Technical Lead or Product Development Manager (PDM) to develop comprehensive test strategies and plans that support project objectives and timelines. Focus on implementing and optimizing testing methodologies to increase efficiency and effectiveness across testing phases. • Test Design and Execution Oversight: Lead the detailed design and oversight of test execution, focusing on critical, high-impact testing activities. Ensure thorough coverage and adherence to quality standards, while efficiently managing resources and timelines. • Automation and Process Optimization: Enhance and expand automation frameworks and practices. Identify opportunities for improving testing processes and automation coverage, contributing to the selection and implementation of advanced tools and technologies. • Cross-functional Collaboration and Communication: Serve as a primary QA contact for development and product management teams, promoting effective communication and collaboration. Ensure that QA processes and results are transparent and integrated into the broader development lifecycle, aligning with the strategic direction set by the Technical Lead. • Quality Advocacy and Project Management: Support the PDM in project planning and execution, taking ownership of quality assurance deliverables within projects. Mentor junior team members and advocate for quality standards and best practices throughout the project lifecycle. • Continuous Improvement and Knowledge Sharing: Actively participate in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives for QA processes and tools, under the strategic guidance of the Technical Lead. Share knowledge and insights with the QA team, contributing to skill development and process refinement. • Stay Informed on Industry Trends: Maintain awareness of new testing technologies, methodologies, and industry best practices. Share findings with the QA team and the Technical Lead, suggesting ways to leverage new insights for improved quality and efficiency.
