Job Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in high-level project management or large-scale compliance programs, with deep expertise in GAGAS and Blue Book standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; Master’s degree or relevant professional certification is preferred.
  • Superior verbal and written skills and can translate complex operational data into clear management insights.
  • Value integrity and committed to unannounced, high-stakes compliance reviews that ensure facility standards are met nationwide.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to successfully pass a Tier 2/Moderate Risk public trust fitness screening.
  • Must be free of any actual or perceived conflicts of interest (COI) relative to the facilities under review.

This role will be responsible for managing the scope, schedule, and cost of GridStor’s large-scale battery storage construction projects. This will include project management over safety, risk and quality management to ensure that the projects achieve commercial operations successfully. Driving project execution and providing oversight of GridStor’s major equipment and EPC services suppliers and overall Project Team to ensure safety and quality requirements are met and exceeded. This role will be given significant responsibility across the project execution lifecycle from Notice to Proceed Final Investment Decision through construction and commissioning. Key Responsibilities: - Manage the execution of one or more energy storage projects including scope, schedule, cost, quality, vendor management, permitting, and other aspects - Manage subcontracts associated with project equipment, engineering services, and balance of plant supply from NTP to commercial operations - Manage project risk through risk register and recovery plan implementation - Coordinate and integrate equipment and BOP contractor project plans and scope, identifying resource needs, performing quality reviews, and escalating issues appropriately - Assist in the scope of work negotiations during EPC and major equipment contracting - Lead GridStor’s EPC Safety Program and ensure all environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures are followed - Implement GridStor’s Quality Assurance and Quality Control programs - Coordinate communication with all areas of the organization that impacts the scope, budget, risk, and resources of the work - Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their work - Help to develop and grow business relationships, including relationships with EPCs, engineering firms, consultants, local AHJs, and others - Support ongoing construction projects by being onsite as needed Qualifications & Competencies: - Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering is preferred. - Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred - Experience: A minimum of 3 years of prior construction project management experience in the energy industry (developer, IPP, consulting, ISOs, or other), a plus if 2+ years in battery energy storage projects. - Location & Availability: Prefer to be based in Portland, OR and available to work a hybrid schedule.
