Role Description The Medtronic Digital, Analytics, Insights, Media and Experience (DAIME) group within the Global Communications and Corporate Marketing (GCCM) function is looking for a Principal, AI Strategy & Implementation to drive the responsible, practical application of AI across marketing, communications, and creative teams. This role blends AI curiosity and applied knowledge with a strong understanding of how communications and marketing programs are developed, approved, and delivered in a complex organization. You will serve as a trusted internal consultant, partnering with stakeholders across operating units to identify high value AI opportunities, guide adoption, and translate emerging AI capabilities into real business impact. This position is remote to enhance our competitive edge and expand our cross-functional collaboration efforts. AI Strategy - Identify and shape use cases across communications, marketing, insights, content, and operations to accelerate strategic support and organizational priorities. - Translate AI capabilities into practical, human‑centered workflows aligned to business needs and governance requirements. - Maintain visibility into AI pilots, tools, and initiatives across the organization. - Develop AI roadmap and align enterprise and function strategy into cohesive plan. Consulting & Stakeholder Partnership - Act as a consultative partner to senior and workstream leaders to identify proactive opportunities to advance AI. - Facilitate AI discovery sessions, opportunity mapping, and working discussions to upskill existing work and establish AI based processes. - Advise stakeholders on when and how AI should be applied—and when it should not. Application & Adoption - Support AI enablement efforts such as training, facilitate AI Champion networks, and communities of practice. - Help teams move from experimentation to repeatable, value‑creating AI use. - Contribute to AI adoption and maturity assessments and leadership reporting. - Establish measurement criteria to determine and convey impact of AI projects and priorities. Qualifications - Requires a Bachelor's degree and minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. - Intellectually curious, social-savvy, and data-driven, with strong attention to detail. - The ability to not only deploy solutions, but also to convey planning and value proposition. - Perspective and experience using AI tools; working with analysts, data providers and developers is a plus. - Demonstrated work experience with ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot or other LLMs is critical. - Experience in marketing, advertising, communications, or market research, with experience and passion for exploring new platforms and partners. - Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel required, coding and API experience a plus. - Experience applying AI in real business contexts (marketing, communications, insights, operations, or adjacent fields), going beyond prompt and basic agent building concepts. - Strong conceptual understanding of generative AI and automation; hands‑on technical depth not required. - High curiosity and continuous learning mindset around AI. - Experience working within or closely with marketing, communications, or creative teams. - Understanding of how campaigns, content, and communications programs come to life in regulated or brand‑sensitive environments. - Proven ability to diagnose needs: problem framing, synthesize need-states, and translate ambiguous business challenges into actionable recommendations. - Ability to influence without authority in a matrixed organization. - Clear communicator and storyteller, with technical and non‑technical audiences. Requirements - For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required. • Own Aurora’s Board of Directors operating rhythm, driving board and investor communications, meeting schedules and agendas for quarterly board and committee meetings. In partnership with the LT, build board decks end-to-end, draft CEO updates, and manage pre-reads and follow-ups. • Lead corporate development initiatives by sourcing, evaluating, and conducting diligence on M&A targets and strategic partnerships.
