Job Description
Controller – Energy Markets
1KOMMA5°
• You take on the company’s financial heartbeat: you are responsible for our monthly close process (month-end close) and internal financial reporting (P&L, cost center reports, forecasts) — ensuring accurate, timely, and structured financial reporting across the business. • You turn numbers into decisions: you prepare and maintain financial reports that give our leadership team a clear view of costs, revenues, and company performance, and you’re comfortable calling out what the numbers indicate. • Become a strategic finance partner: beyond producing reports, you will increasingly contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning and work closely with the CFO to strengthen our financial infrastructure as the company grows. • Make Excel your instrument: you work daily with structured, well-designed spreadsheet models and build, improve, and maintain them to a high standard. • Apply AI to make your work easier: you’re curious to learn in an AI-driven tech environment and to dive into a variety of AI tools (e.g., Claude) to boost your and your teammates’ efficiency in reporting and forecasting.
Job Requirements
- You have hands-on experience in financial controlling within the energy markets—whether cost, revenue, or sales controlling; the key is that you know how to work with financial data and turn it into structured, reliable reports.
- You hold a degree in business administration, finance, or a related field; a master’s degree is not required.
- You are highly proficient in Excel and enjoy using it daily. Clean model structure, well-organized sheets, and robust formulas are second nature to you.
- You have excellent German and English language skills (C1/C2).
- You are detail-oriented and structured, with a strong sense of ownership for the figures you are responsible for.
- Above all, you are eager to learn: you view joining a fast-growing tech company as an opportunity to grow quickly, take real responsibility, and build something meaningful from the ground up.
Benefits
- You will be part of an international, dynamic, and highly motivated team of people who have a track record of getting things done.
- Through your work you accelerate the energy transition and have a direct positive impact on the climate.
- Work with and learn from other highly intelligent, talented colleagues.
- You will have direct access to decision-makers.
- You’ll have an excellent opportunity to join one of Europe’s fastest-growing scale-ups full-time.
- Work remotely (Germany-wide), with offices in Hamburg, Berlin, or Munich.
- Maintain a healthy work-life balance and benefit from all EGYM Wellpass perks.
- Benefits and discounts are available through Futurebens.
- Whether city bike or e-bike — be flexible with our job-bike leasing and do something good for the environment.
