Job Purpose and Impact The Dairy Focus Consultant will provide nutrition recommendations and support to customers during and after product sales. In this position, you'll consult directly with dairy farmers and their employees to stay ahead of technology and business practices. You should have a passion for the dairy industry and be comfortable working on farm with dairy farm employees, dairy ownership, and affiliated dairy representatives. In this position you will set performance goals that align with the territory and dairy leadership team objectives and are accountable to work towards those goals. Key Accountabilities - Help identify potential customers and manage existing customer relationships by providing in-depth nutrition advice and training to customers and prospects, driving improved product performance. - With guidance, conduct market research, pricing analysis, and sales activities while prospecting new dairies, building networks, and identifying opportunities for territory growth. - Monitor customer and competitor activity, as well as industry trends, to evaluate monthly performance against objectives and budget, and implement actions to achieve targets. - Protect, grow, and diversify relationships with targeted customers by collaborating with internal partners - Support business growth by promoting favorable information about the organization's products and services across dairy producers, mills, and internal teams. - Participate in team and leadership meetings with dairy producers, mills, and Cargill teammates, fostering collaboration and alignment. - Support team members through mentorship and training opportunities, contributing to overall team capability and success. - Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex matters to appropriate staff. - Other duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience - Minimum requirement of 2 years of relevant work experience. - Dairy, feed, animal nutrition and health industry experience - Able and willing to travel up to 70% to visit dairy farms daily - Valid driver's license in good standing Preferred Qualifications - Master's degree in animal nutrition, animal health or related field - Two or more years of experience working as a dairy nutrition consultant and technical sales - Exposure to on-farm dairy data and capability to analyze and summarize data into meaningful information for the customer in conjunction with your dairy team Position Information Relocation assistance will not be provided for this position.
