Job Description

Accounting, Admin Support

• Assist with payroll calculations for employees and/or contractors — including hours worked, overtime, deductions, and net pay • Verify timesheets, attendance records, and payroll inputs for accuracy before processing • Ensure payroll data is entered correctly into the payroll or accounting system • Flag discrepancies, missing data, or unusual entries for review before payroll is finalized • Assist with tracking payroll-related records and maintaining organized payroll documentation • Support year-end payroll activities including W-2 preparation support and reporting as directed • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions — entering invoices, tracking payments, and following up on outstanding balances • Perform data entry into the accounting system accurately and consistently • Support monthly bank and account reconciliations by gathering and organizing supporting documentation • Maintain organized financial records, receipts, and transaction documentation • Assist with generating basic financial reports and summaries as directed • Support the accounting team with ad hoc tasks and special projects as needed • Manage day-to-day administrative tasks including scheduling, correspondence, and document management • Organize and maintain digital and physical files in a clean, consistent, and retrievable format • Draft and send professional emails and correspondence on behalf of the team as directed • Handle incoming communications — emails, calls, and messages — and route them appropriately • Coordinate meetings, appointments, and calendar logistics for the team • Prepare documents, reports, presentations, and supporting materials as needed • Support general office operations and ensure administrative workflows stay organized and on track • Communicate professionally with clients and vendors regarding invoices, payments, scheduling, and general inquiries • Follow up on outstanding documents, approvals, or information needed to keep operations moving • Maintain organized records of client and vendor interactions and ensure all commitments are tracked and fulfilled

Job Requirements

  • Experience in an accounting support, bookkeeping, or payroll processing role
  • Solid understanding of payroll concepts including gross pay, deductions, overtime, and net pay calculations
  • Strong data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for calculations, tracking, and basic reporting
  • Comfortable working with accounting or payroll software — QuickBooks or similar experience is a strong plus
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage both accounting and administrative tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for internal and client-facing correspondence
  • Self-directed and reliable in a fully remote work environment
  • Experience with payroll processing software or platforms such as QuickBooks Payroll, Gusto, Paylocity, or Paychex (preferred)
  • Familiarity with accounts payable and receivable workflows (preferred)
  • Background supporting a small to mid-sized business in a dual accounting and administrative capacity (preferred)
  • Accounting certificate, associate degree, or coursework in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (preferred)
  • Experience supporting a principal, owner, or accounting manager in a service-based business environment (preferred)

Role Description The Manager, Financial Audit and Accounting Operations role is part of the Controllership Team. This role will work with our third-party internal audit team to perform testing of financial, operational and IT controls of various departments to ensure compliance with prescribed procedures and policies, and will be foundational in the continued development of the internal audit function. This role will also oversee and actively participate in a variety of projects related to the organization’s revenue and financial operations. This unique role combines the financial oversight duties of an accounting professional with the financial analysis responsibilities of a Finance position. The position reports to the Senior Director of Revenue Accounting and Operations and provides valuable hands-on experience for professionals who seek to expand their experience and skill set to advance their career/seek upward mobility within a finance organization. This role will be part of the team responsible for providing rapid and high-quality financial information.
