• Draft and negotiate varying complex author contracts (including global joint acquisitions agreements, working up to profit sharing agreements) • Support Macmillan Audio agreements, understanding publisher-specific needs • Advise Editors, Publishers, Finance, and other colleagues on deal terms and agency boilerplate • Contract terminations • Entering and maintaining contract data in Biblio • Special projects, as needed

Job Requirements

  • Approximately 4-7 years’ book publishing contracts experience (in-house or at a literary agency)
  • Ability to manage high volume of work with varying complexity

Role Description In this role, you'll join Impinj's Finance & Accounting organization to lead a small but dedicated Payroll team. You'll serve as the subject matter expert for all things payroll — from day-to-day processing to complex equity transactions and global compliance. You'll collaborate with Human Resources and team members across departments to ensure our employees worldwide are paid accurately and on time. This role offers meaningful ownership and visibility, with direct engagement with external auditors and leadership on process improvements and compliance. - Oversee all aspects of domestic and foreign payroll management including routine payroll processing, tax and benefits compliance and reporting, and SOX compliance. - Partner with Human Resources to facilitate the accurate and timely processing of payroll, including benefit deductions, leaves of absence, employee changes, etc. - Oversee the preparation of domestic payroll and payroll related reports, including governmental and regulatory filings. - Manage and guide a small Payroll Team of one employee. - Own responsibility for foreign payroll processing with outside service organization, including review and journal entries associated with monthly foreign subsidiary reporting package. - Manage and oversee stock-based compensation processing in payroll, including option exercises, RSUs and ESPP for proper income reporting and tax withholding. - Monitor compliance with applicable federal, state, local laws, and regulations. - Liaise with external auditors and manage payroll related audit questions. - Analyze payroll processes and controls, identify efficiencies, drive change, and manage priorities. - Monitor employee inquiries and ensure that all inquiries are promptly and appropriately resolved. - Assist in other areas of accounting as necessary. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience. - 5 years of payroll experience, including oversight of domestic and foreign payroll. - Management experience. - Ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues across the organization. - Deep knowledge of payroll compliance, tax laws and complex employee benefit programs impacting payroll. - Knowledge of taxable and non-taxable earnings and expenses. - Excellent understanding of equity related transactions. - Experience managing and documenting payroll controls for compliance with SOX. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Attention to detail and organization. - Demonstrated integrity and professionalism. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - General accounting skills, including journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis. - Ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines in a high-volume, fast paced environment.
