Role Description As a Product Manager at Grafana Labs, you'll develop a vision and strategy for your product domain. You will own your product’s roadmap, collateral, and market research, and you will collaborate with Grafana leadership on fine-tuning your product’s goals. You will be the primary advocate and expert in your area, with a strong ability to communicate needs, functionality, and details effectively both to external customers and internal stakeholders. The teams and people you will be interacting with will be 100% remote and globally distributed, so strong and proactive communication is essential. Product Managers are the bridge that connect Engineering, Design, and UX to GTM. You are a facilitator who ensures the free flow of information across these teams and are expected to be technically proficient when representing our products to our customers. As the Product Manager for Performance Testing, you'll own the Grafana Cloud experience for performance testing, built around our k6 open-source project. You'll define how customers write, run, and act on performance tests across the software delivery lifecycle — ensuring Grafana Cloud k6 becomes the default choice for teams replacing legacy tools and adopting shift-left testing. The portfolio spans two surfaces: - Grafana Cloud k6 (our commercial cloud product offering execution at scale from 21 global locations) - k6 OSS (the open-source CLI that anchors developer trust and community adoption) As the PM, you'll define how test results integrate with Grafana Cloud's metrics, logs, and traces — turning a failed load test into a specific offending trace in seconds. You'll also evolve performance testing across modalities such as protocol, browser, and mobile. The focus is on delivering an integrated, opinionated cloud experience that customers want to pay for and stay with. You'll also work across R&D to ensure Performance Testing is tightly woven into the broader Grafana Cloud suite — connecting with platforms like the Knowledge Graph and our core Cloud products, like Application Observability and Kubernetes Monitoring – so customers can seamlessly navigate between pre-production validation and production monitoring. Qualifications - A BS/BA in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience - 7+ years of experience in Product Management - 5+ years of experience in a B2B SaaS product - Experience using or building developer-facing tools, APIs, or platform services - Ability to discuss APIs, data models, schema evolution, and distributed systems concepts - Experience driving adoption of shared services or platform capabilities across multiple product teams - Experience working with Engineering and Design teams to build delightful products and features – with sound UX – in a fast-paced environment - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders Requirements - Experience with open source software and/or commercial open source companies - Experience using or building observability products and/or developer tools, either internally as an SRE or for external customers - Proficient with infrastructure concepts and components – like Kubernetes, Cloud Service Providers, and VMs – and able to articulate these models in human-readable terms - Experience with AI tools Benefits - 100% Remote, Global Culture - As a remote-only company, we bring together talent from around the world, united by a culture of collaboration and shared purpose. - Scaling Organization – Tackle meaningful work in a high-growth, ever-evolving environment. - Transparent Communication – Expect open decision-making and regular company-wide updates. - Innovation-Driven – Autonomy and support to ship great work and try new things. - Open Source Roots – Built on community-driven values that shape how we work. - Empowered Teams – High trust, low ego culture that values outcomes over optics. - Career Growth Pathways – Defined opportunities to grow and develop your career. - Approachable Leadership – Transparent execs who are involved, visible, and human. - Passionate People – Join a team of smart, supportive folks who care deeply about what they do. - In-Person onboarding - We want you to thrive from day 1 with your fellow new ‘Grafanistas’ to learn all about what we do and how we do it. - Balance is Key - We operate a global annual leave policy of 30 days per annum. 3 days of your annual leave entitlement are reserved for Grafana Shutdown Days to allow the team to really disconnect.
