Computacenter has an ambitious transformation agenda, and we are looking to build a new Enterprise Architecture function to work alongside an already existing Solution Architecture team to support this. We are currently seeking experienced Enterprise Architects to work closely with our technology strategic partners and business leaders to create a compelling vision, strategy and roadmap for your domain, and work closely with our Solution Architecture function to deliver the desired outcomes to the business areas. This role has a data center / cloud focus. - Partner with business leaders to deliver services that support company objectives and that are consistent with Winning Together values. - Assist in the creation and evolution of Domain Tech Strategies that are adopted by your domain and technology business stakeholders. - Create and maintain a current and target view of our Enterprise Architecture to deliver our business and technology strategies. - Support business and technology change through capability roadmaps that assist in service and solution creation. - Work closely with our Solution Specialist function ensuring that Tech Strategy is viable and new ‘solutions’ can be architected within the EA Principles/Guardrails and still deliver the desired outcomes to the business areas. - Support annual and quarterly business and portfolio planning processes to ensure that the initiatives and plans are consistent with the agreed tech strategies. - Ensuring our EA tool information is up to date and has the required breadth and depth. - Support the development of architecture tools and techniques to support others in the practice. - Embrace and support Computacenter’s mission and core values. Qualifications - 5+ years' experience as a Lead or Domain Enterprise Architect. - A track record of creating and embedding technology strategies either within a business domain or within a large-scale transformation program. - Legally eligible to work in the United States. - Experience with RedHat, AWS, Azure, VMware. - Effective communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and business terminology. - Ability to produce quality EA models and artifacts that drive effective decision making. - Ability to demonstrate alignment of technical decisions with business goals and value delivery. - A continuous learning mindset and to keep pace with industry and market trends. - Ability to use your skill and experience to create tools and content that will aid the development of the emerging EA practice. - Experience of following structured methodologies for consistency and risk reduction, e.g. TOGAF, SAFe and system development lifecycles e.g. waterfall, agile, DevOps & DevSecOps. - Ability to build trusted and respect as a ‘thought leader’ who can influence and when appropriate persuade technology and business leaders. - To be motivated by leading and driving the team to deliver upon the business strategy. - Ability to be technology neutral: unbiased towards any specific technology or vendor choice, entirely motivated by getting to ‘value & outcomes’. - Ability to propose and effectively estimate proposed solution commercials. - Exceptional interpersonal skills, teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation. - Proven analytical, planning, organizational and technology skills. Role Description This is NOT IT, Software or Cybersecurity. They own initial solution design, documentation, and validation, and work closely with Account Executives to ensure customer solutions are feasible and manufacturable, before handing them off to Application Engineers for more detailed design and BOM preparation. - Meeting customers face-to-face to co-create efficient, manufacturable, and cost-effective solutions – doing what’s right for the customer, even if that means removing cost to earn long-term trust. - Taking inbound requests from customers for insights, advice, and expertise; becoming the customer’s “trusted solutions advisor.” - Communicating with stakeholders “up-and-down” the customer’s org, presenting solutions with credibility to both technical resources and engineers, and executive leaders. - Acting as the liaison between the customer and Forgent’s engineering teams, translating customer needs into clear, actionable designs for Application Engineers to further detail (and ultimately handed over to manufacturing teams). - Championing the technical credibility and capability of Forgent both through demonstrated expertise in front of customers, and at broader industry events and trade shows (e.g., as a panel speaker). - Sharing insights, customer feedback, and learnings back into Forgent, helping the org capture lessons learned and filed intelligence to improve the “library” of configurable designs and future product evolution. - Partnering early and often with Account Executives from initial opportunity strategy. - Upskilling and adding expertise through classes, certifications, industry events, conferences, etc. - Proactively shaping opportunities, identifying design optimizations or system configurations that could improve customer outcomes before they ask. - Building long-term customer trust as the go-to technical advisor for customers; building “repeat demand” and a desire to partner with that specific Solution Engineer again. Qualifications - 3-6+ years in application engineering, solution architecture, or technical pre-sales. - Deep technical knowledge of power systems, infrastructure, or related technologies. - Strong presentation and communication skills – including the ability to engage credibly with customer engineers. - Experience collaborating with sales teams to win complex solution deals.
