Health Program Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) Specialist

Role Description The Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) Specialist oversees regional Training and Technical Assistance (TA) activities for rural health providers in New Mexico. Primary responsibilities include: - Performing assignments related to a training and technical assistance project under the direction of senior management. - Providing guidance to more junior team members. - Triage and manage coordination of individualized training and technical assistance. - Participating in universal technical assistance activities. - Working directly with health providers and supporting learning collaboratives. - Assigning and managing deployment of a team of health delivery subject matter experts. - Working within technology platforms to manage and deploy training. - Supporting data and evaluation teams to assist assessment and monitoring activities. Successful candidates should know how to apply adult learning theory and human-centered design in the creation of innovative TA solutions and to design and create resources in multiple formats and technologies. Candidates should have a background in: - Training and technical assistance. - Rural health. - Adult learning principles. - Instructional design. - Capacity building. Ideal candidates will have a solid grounding in health service delivery, rural health, and experience working in and with rural and tribal populations. Spanish, Pueblo, Apache, or Navajo language skills are welcome but not required. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in public health, public policy, behavioral/social sciences, or related field required. - Minimum of 5 years of experience with: - Designing, coordinating, delivering, and supporting capacity building. - Health delivery or health system transformation. - Applying instructional design, human-centered design, and adult learning principles to design and/or deliver TTA. - Facilitating webinars through online communications platforms. - Managing multiple TA assignments and monitoring of SMEs. - Ability to think analytically, define and thoroughly document tasks, and conceptualize and plan work efficiently. - Experience with training and technical assistance technology is preferred (tracking systems, communication systems, webinar software, etc). - Experience supporting or implementing federal health transformation efforts including work with CMS or HRSA-funded projects or health system projects. - Exceptional communications skills and experience communicating with a variety of audiences, including government clients, subject matter experts, healthcare leaders, and providers. - Comfortable facilitating client meetings, peer learning collaborative sessions, and day-to-day communications with healthcare providers and SMEs.
