Title: Library Assistant II (Crescent) Location: Crescent, OR Part Time LIB Entry Level Department: Library Reports to: Library Director Salary: $14.58 - $15.92 Job Description: Job Summary Under the direction of the Branch Supervising Librarian, the Library Assistant II performs clerical and para-professional duties in the operation of a Branch Library. This position is part-time or substitute-based, supporting daily library functions and assisting patrons across all age groups.Essential Duties and Responsibilities The following list is not intended to be all-inclusive. Additional duties may be assigned as needed. - Remain up to date on library policies and procedures, particularly those related to branch operations. - Assist with planning and facilitating programs for children, teens, and adults. - Provide courteous and helpful assistance to patrons seeking materials, information, or help with library technologies. - Support patrons with impairments by helping them locate accessible and appropriate resources. - Contact patrons regarding reserved, overdue, or damaged materials in a professional manner. - Record and maintain daily library usage statistics. - Charge and discharge library materials; reshelve items; issue library cards in accordance with eligibility guidelines. - Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming library environment; ensure bookshelves, furniture, and displays are orderly and appealing. - Notify appropriate personnel in the event of an emergency. - Assist with weeding outdated or worn materials from the collection under direction of the Branch Assistant. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Current Oregon Driver License Physical Demands: This role requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, hand use, reaching, and effective communication. Occasionally, you may need to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or use the senses of taste or smell. The ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds is sometimes necessary.
