Auditor, Compliance

WM

• Plan and conduct internal audits to determine compliance with Federal and State regulations. • Review facility operations and records to ensure adequacy of internal controls, compliance with procedures, consistency with established laws, rules and regulations and guidelines applicable to overall compliance for the operation. • Prepare audit reports, and implement administrative and technical audit procedures for audit program activities. • Review and verify audit corrective actions and action to prevent reoccurrence for all audit findings. • Reviews, prepares, or maintain audit protocols relevant to federal and state operations. • Provides regulatory review and develops guidance documents as needed. • Interact effectively with all levels of site's management and operational personnel to audit safe work practices and safety programs. • Perform other duties which may be assigned as time or circumstances necessitate.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Engineering, Environmental Science, or similar area of study, or in lieu of degree, a High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience: Five (5) years of previous relevant compliance experience (in addition to education requirement).
  • Preferred based on a focus in:
  • DOT - completion of the FMCSA North America Standard Certification
  • Environmental - BEAC or equivalent auditing certification
  • Health & Safety - Certified Safety Professional or advanced technical education in related areas; BEAC or equivalent auditing certification.
  • Working knowledge of solid and hazardous waste industry is preferred.
