Inpatient Medical Coder

Role Description Work Setup: 100% work from home Work Schedule: Dayshift schedule with fixed weekends off (shift may vary depending on the client assigned but no chances on going on night shift) Responsibilities: - Thoroughly review medical records to precisely assign ICD-10 diagnoses and procedure codes, ensuring the correct MS-DRG or APR-DRG classification. - Efficiently abstract essential data in line with facility guidelines. - Proactively monitor and manage accounts like Discharged, Not Final Billed, Failed Claims, and Stop Bills to guarantee prompt and compliant inpatient billing processes. - Consistently maintain high accuracy while meeting quality, productivity, and performance benchmarks using 3M 360 or eCAC systems. - Keep yourself informed on the latest CMS requirements, CCI edits, HACs, and relevant NCDs and LCDs, including the proper application of modifiers to ensure clean claims. Qualifications - At least 3 years of experience as a medical coder of any specialization. - At least 3 years of experience using Epic and/or Solventum. - With any of the following certifications: CCS, RHIT, or RHIA. CIC can be considered if all other requirements are met. - Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related Allied Medical field. - Strong knowledge of Coding Clinics and ICD Guidelines, including newborn charts. - Experience with MS-DRG, APR-DRG, PCS, PDX, and CC/MCC sections. - Proficient with 3M or similar medical coding tools and willing to complete assessment. - Willing to work fully from home with a desktop provided by the company. - Able to either go onsite for the coding assessment or take it online strictly within the 9:00 am to 11:00 am or 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm timeframe, Monday to Friday. - Available to start within 30 days of job offer acceptance.
