Role Description ASRC Federal Technical Services is seeking six (6) GIS Technicians (all Entry-level) to join our team supporting the Census Bureau in Suitland, MD. This position will be focused on tasks related to maintaining accuracy and completeness of the Census MAF (Master Address File)/TIGER (Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing System) Database (MTDB). Required changes to boundaries, streets, and addresses are identified and digitized as needed primarily through Census proprietary software. Qualifications - US Citizenship and presently residing in the DC/MD/VA area. - Certificate in Cartography or GIS, an Associate's degree in Geography or GIS, or a Bachelor's degree in Geography or GIS (will consider other degrees such as Environmental Science). - Internship experience is a plus. - Coursework/project or labs with ArcGIS (workstation and desktop); Arc View, AutoCAD Map. - Good organizational and communication skills. - Some knowledge of civil engineering, cartography surveying, and drafting. - Experience with ArcGIS Pro, Imagery, and understanding of Databases. - Ability to work as a member of a team. - Ability to share GIS knowledge with other team members.
