Summary We are looking for a Technical Writer to join our Transmission and Distribution team! As a Technical Writer with our team your role: - Develops, writes, edits, and maintains operating and maintenance policies, processes, and procedures. - Observes operating activities to determine operating procedure and detail. - Interviews operations, maintenance, planning, engineering, and supervisory and management personnel and reads reports and other material to become familiar with operating systems and processes. - Organizes materials and completes writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology. Minimum Requirements - Must have AA/AS degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience in an electric industry environment - And two (2) years’ experience drafting operating and maintenance policies, processes, and procedures. - Must possess strong verbal communication skills. - Proficiency in PC software applications including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Power Point This position may require access to and/or use of information subject to control under the Department of Energys Part 810 Regulations (10 CFR Part 810), the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) (15 CFR Parts 730 through 774), or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) (22 CFR Chapter I, Subchapter M Part 120 ) (collectively, U.S. Export Control Laws). Therefore, this position requires applicants to be a U.S. person, which is defined as a U.S. Citizen, a U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), a Political Asylee, or a Refugee under the U.S. Export Control Laws. The Technical Writer/Editor III will play a critical role in ensuring clear, accurate, and concise technical documentation across multiple departments including Engineering, Cybersecurity, Project Management, Operations, and Production. This role involves gathering, analyzing, organizing, and translating complex technical information into user-friendly documentation that meets Government, NAVSEA, and DoD standards.
