Role Description At Roamless, front-end isn't an afterthought, it's how more than a million travelers experience our product every day. The scope of what you'll work on is genuinely broad: - Website: A high-traffic, conversion-critical surface where you'll help define how things are built and how content is structured and accelerated through our CMS. - B2B Enterprise Portal: A brand new product for a new business line, currently in its earliest stages, providing real room to design it the way it should be done. You'll work closely with our PM responsible for our web experience from day one, shaping the roadmap rather than receiving it. This role values your instincts about what to build next as much as your ability to build it. You'll report directly to our CTO and work in a team of front-end developers, closely collaborating with Product and Design. This isn't a role where you wait for specs and execute; you'll set the technical direction, define the architecture, and be the go-to person for hard decisions. You'll still write code every day, leading by example, not by delegation. You'll be the bridge between Product and Engineering on all web experiences, translating product vision into technical decisions, pushing back when something isn't feasible, and proactively flagging opportunities the product side might not see. Qualifications - 7+ years of front-end development experience with deep expertise in React and Next.js. - Strong Node.js skills - comfortable operating across the full front-end/backend boundary. - A genuine belief in AI-assisted engineering, with experience using AI tools in your own workflow. - A track record of architecting and owning front-end systems. - Experience setting technical direction and raising the quality bar in teams. - Startup mindset: making good decisions with incomplete information, moving fast, and owning outcomes end-to-end. - Experience working directly with Product teams in a cross-functional capacity. - Clear, structured communicator - able to articulate technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders. Requirements - Champion AI adoption across the frontend team. - Lead the team's CMS migration, owning both technical execution and long-term content infrastructure design. - Set technical standards, code quality bars, and front-end patterns for the team. - Drive performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability across all web properties. - Mentor and grow the front-end team as Roamless scales. • Design, develop, and maintain responsive, interactive user interfaces using React, Angular, or Vue.js. • Integrate and support Pindrop authentication, fraud detection, and voice security functions in frontend workflows. • Translate design wireframes and mockups into high-quality code. • Implement UI/UX best practices to deliver user-friendly web applications. • Optimize application performance for maximum speed and scalability. • Integrate frontend applications with backend RESTful APIs and microservices. • Write clean, efficient, testable code following best practices for performance, maintainability, and security. • Design and deploy cloud-native applications using AWS services including EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, and IAM. • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or GitLab CI. • Set up monitoring, logging, and observability using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Splunk logging. • Collaborate on infrastructure automation using CloudFormation and Terraform. • Integrate solutions with AWS services like Lambda. • Use of AI-assisted coding in development workflows. • Assist backend teams with full-stack integration and debugging. • Contribute to backend development (Python/Node.js) when needed for end-to-end functionality.
