Genetic Implementation Manager

Role Description We are looking for someone to join our dynamic team as a Genetic Implementation Manager. In this role you'll be responsible for leading the successful implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement of PIC’s genetic program across the PIC Elite Farm system in Europe. - Provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring alignment of program execution across multiple sites. - Build team capability through coaching, training, and performance management. - Directly manage at least one team member and provide leadership to technical site leads and farm teams. - Thrive in a culturally diverse, fast-paced environment and work both autonomously and collaboratively. - Work closely with Supply Chain to coordinate and implement the genetic program effectively across the network. - Bring together technical expertise and strong communication skills, positioning yourself as a thought leader. - Confidently challenge thinking, navigate difficult conversations, and influence key stakeholders. - Ideally based in Spain with approximately 30–40% travel, including some international travel required. Responsibilities and Essential Duties - Lead the implementation and execution of PIC’s genetic improvement strategy across the Elite Farm system. - Manage and develop direct report(s) by providing coaching, training, performance feedback, and development opportunities. - Provide leadership and direction to technical site leads and farm teams for effective adoption of genetic improvement protocols. - Partner closely with Supply Chain to align the implementation of the genetic program with animal flow and operational planning. - Drive cross-functional coordination and communication of the genetic improvement strategy. - Oversee the execution of routine and special genetic improvement projects. - Support the planning and coordination of genetic dissemination of elite animals across the global elite farm system. - Provide oversight and support for data acquisition systems, including troubleshooting and identifying innovative solutions. - Analyze and interpret genetic and operational data using statistical techniques to support decision-making. - Monitor program performance, identify risks or gaps in execution, and implement corrective actions. - Use established procedures and sound judgment to solve operational and technical problems. Qualifications - University Degree in Animal or Meat Science, Animal Breeding and Genetics or a related field. - A minimum of 5 years of experience within livestock production systems, including experience in genetic production and training. - Working knowledge of contemporary record-keeping systems. - A minimum of 4 years of experience with Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications. - Must not co-habitat or live on the same premises with any person who works with swine.
