SEAKR Engineering

Role Description Seeking a skilled Payroll Accountant who will work independently and under the direction of the Assistant Controller. The candidate must have: - At least 5 years of progressive payroll experience with a medium or large company - 2 years minimum experience processing payroll for 200+ employees - Experience working in a large ERP system - Experience working with a large payroll service provider, such as Paycom and ADP - Understanding of compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws - Ability to perform general ledger account reconciliations The candidate must also possess: - Good organizational skills - Ability to manage multiple deadlines - Effective communication skills - Ability to maintain productive working relationships - Critical thinking and problem-solving skills Essential Responsibilities - Weekly timecard processing - Bi-weekly payroll processing - Payroll reporting, filings, and taxes - Process compensation and benefit changes - Garnishments and taxes - Processing labor transfers - Complete general ledger (GL) account reconciliations - Compliance assurance - Researching and resolving payroll discrepancies - Audit support and internal controls - Maintain payroll records and process documentation - Point of contact for all payroll related matters - Function as a back-up for other accounting tasks - Works collaboratively with HR Core Competencies - Takes ownership for all work activities and personal actions - Prioritizes tasks and effectively uses time to complete assignments on-time or ahead of schedule - Takes initiative to understand job duties and responsibilities - Produces results that meet or exceed organizational standards - Contributes to effective team processes and deliverables - Cares about their work and the performance of the company - Takes initiative to develop job knowledge and technical skills - Improves quality or processes Qualifications - Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business required; Accounting or Finance degree preferred - At least 5 years of progressive payroll experience with a medium or large company - At least 2 years of experience processing payroll for 200+ employees - Strong knowledge of accounting with the ability to reconcile accounts - Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) welcomed - Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word - Ability to think critically, analyze a problem, and propose solutions is required - Good organization skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines - Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are required - Hands-on experience with ERP systems and large payroll provider systems are desired - Experience and skills in government contract accounting, manufacturing accounting, and job/labor costing are highly desired Benefits - Base pay range is $60,000 - $85,000 depending on qualifications - Rich medical, dental, and vision insurance plans - Generous 401(k) retirement plan - Eligibility for an annual bonus - Variety of paid leave, such as vacation, sick, bereavement, and FMLA Additional Information - US Citizenship Required - Successful applicants will be invited to complete a questionnaire to help us understand your goals, skills, and experience - Remote work is possible, but strong preference is given to local candidates - SEAKR is an Equal Opportunity Employer - All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines - Applications will be accepted until 5/22/26
