Job Description

Staff Product Designer – Prototypes

Miro

• Define and drive the North Star for Miro Prototyping. You’ll articulate a vision that disrupts the norms and looks where the market is going. • Be a tireless innovator in the AI space. You will explore how generative AI can collapse the gap between a rough sketch and full functioning app. • Approach the product with an entrepreneurial spirit and sense of ownership. You’ll navigate ambiguity, build lean experiments, and treat the Prototyping mode as your own startup within Miro. • Leverage your deep understanding of the design tool landscape to create a best-in-class experience that rivals any competitor while maintaining Miro’s ease of use and considering our other suite of formats. • Partner with Product and Engineering to solve complex technical challenges around AI quality, discoverability, and the seamless transition between the ‘infinite canvas’ and ‘Prototypes Focus Mode’. • Set the bar for design excellence at Miro, mentoring other designers and contributing to the evolution of our design systems and internal tooling.

Job Requirements

 • 10+ years of product design experience, ideally in B2B SaaS or AI-focused roles.
 • At least 2-3 years operating at a Staff / Principal level, with proven ownership of complex initiatives.
 • A strong portfolio showcasing your ability to create clear, user-focused products and strategies. Demonstrating both the impact on user experience and business goals.
 • A deep understanding of AI and AI design tooling and the ability to show you’re leading the charge.
 • Proven experience working closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, UX design, and engineering, to deliver seamless content solutions.
 • Deep understanding of UX practices, information architecture, and user-centred design methodologies.
 • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate the value of design and collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
 • A proactive and flexible approach, comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment and managing multiple priorities.
 • Experience working on design tools, editors, or creative software is a massive plus.

Role Description As our Lead or Principal Product Designer focused on Design Systems, you'll own the strategy, execution, and evolution of our design system end to end. We're looking for someone who sees a design system as far more than a UI kit. To us, a true design system is a living product: - Encompasses UI components and usage rules - Includes a developer-facing storefront - Ensures parity between design and code - Involves governance and operations - Features training and adoption programs This is also a role for someone who has navigated the real complexity of multi-product design systems — bringing together several products, teams, and processes into a unified system while those products are still live, actively used, and being sold. Alongside design systems ownership, you'll contribute hands-on product design work across our portfolio. The balance will lean heavily toward systems, but delivery work is part of the role — you'll be embedded in the product, not siloed from it. Qualifications - 7–15 years of product design experience with a significant focus on design systems - A philosophy that a design system is a product — with users, a roadmap, governance, and adoption programs - Proven experience building or maturing a design system end to end - Experience establishing design system governance and operations - Experience running training and adoption programs - Strong command of the Figma-to-code pipeline - Experience unifying design systems across multiple live products - Strong generalist product design skills - Complex B2B product experience with multi-user, multi-role enterprise workflows - Collaboration skills working effectively with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders - Mentorship experience helping other designers grow - Communication skills presenting work confidently and influencing decisions - Portfolio showcasing design systems depth and high-quality craft - Expertise in industry-standard tools such as Figma, Confluence, Notion, Google Drive - Inclusive design expertise with understanding of WCAG standards - Agile/Scrum experience working in iterative, cross-functional product teams Requirements - Background in B2B SaaS, HR tech, or employee experience products (nice to have) - Experience contributing to broader design practice-building at a growing organization (nice to have) - Familiarity with survey platforms, data visualization, or analytics tools (nice to have) - Advanced inclusive design knowledge beyond WCAG basics (nice to have) - Experience with design ops tooling and workflows (nice to have) Benefits - Salary range of $120k- $150k, varies based on relevant experience - Bonus eligible - PTO policy includes company holidays, sick time, vacation time, and floating holidays - Remote work options - Company pays a portion of individual health care premium - Option to participate in a company-sponsored 401(k) - Training and education opportunities - Professional development access to a third-party professional coach - Tuition reimbursement program Company Description Energage is a purpose-driven company that helps organizations turn employee feedback into useful business intelligence and credible employer recognition through Top Workplaces. Built on 19 years of culture research and the results from 23 million employees surveyed across more than 70,000 organizations, Energage delivers the most accurate competitive benchmark available. Energage is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.

Since 2011, we've tirelessly delivered on our promise to customers sending money globally, providing secure, simple, and reliable ways to manage their money, ensuring true peace of mind. Whether it's supporting loved ones back home, growing a business across continents, or pursuing new opportunities abroad, we're not just here to move money— we're here to move our global customers forward. We're looking for builders, reimaginers, and global thinkers who want to work at the intersection of technology, trust, and transformation. If that's you and you're ready to do the most meaningful work of your career—we invite you to join over 2,800 passionate Remitlians worldwide who are united by our vision to transform lives with trusted financial services that transcend borders. About the Role Remitly's Receivers team is a startup within Remitly. We are building the experience for 30 million new customers in emerging markets — people who will meet Remitly first as recipients, not as senders. We move at startup pace: scrappy, fast, minimal red tape, high responsibility per person. We are looking for a Senior Product Designer (Contract) with an AI-first workflow and strong craft across both product UX and product marketing. You will partner day-to-day with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and other Designers to take ambiguous problems from "we think there is something here" to shipped, validated, customer-loved experiences. You will move seamlessly between rapid prototyping with AI tools and detail-level Figma work against our design system and localization processes. You will conduct your own concept testing and customer interviews, and bring a strong point of view to design decisions — disagreeing productively when you believe customers deserve better. This is a contract engagement of 3 months at 40 hours per week. We prefer a Seattle-based hire on a hybrid schedule (2–3 days a week in the Seattle office). We are open to remote for the right candidate, with some travel expected. How to stand out Send us your resume and portfolio. We'll absolutely review. But if you want to jump to the top of the stack, show us your chops: Pick any money app of your choosing. Identify a problem or opportunity in it for a specific customer type. Use AI to design a prototype in 30 minutes or less. Show us your reasoning and prompts on the way. This can be as simple as a <5 min unpolished show-and-tell Loom video, a few slides, or a short doc -- whatever you feel is best. We love to see unpolished and scrappy work. Don't spend hours on this; it's your quality of thinking and prioritization that will shine through, not a slick presentation! You Will - Own design end-to-end across both product UX (flows, wireframes, prototypes, full-fidelity UI) and product marketing assets for the Receivers experience. - Use AI tools fluently — Claude Code, Google Stitch, or similar for rapid prototyping; Claude (Cowork or Code), Gemini, or ChatGPT for rapid research, content generation, and analysis — to compress the path from problem to validated direction. - Translate AI-driven prototypes into polished Figma work that respects our existing design system and localization processes. - Make sense of ambiguous, complex problems and shape them into clear design directions without waiting for the brief to be perfect. - Conduct concept testing and customer interviews to validate direction; synthesize qualitative and quantitative signal to inform decisions. - Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and other Designers — communicating progress, risks, and trade-offs clearly. - Bring a strong point of view to design and product conversations, and push back when you believe a decision will let customers down. - Document decisions and hand off cleanly so the team can pick up and maintain the work after the engagement ends. You Have - 7+ years of product design experience, including time in fast-moving, low-process environments where you owned outcomes from problem framing through ship. - A strong portfolio showing shipped, customer-facing work with clear before/after, your specific contribution, and high attention to interaction and visual craft. - A clear AI-leveraging workflow you can demonstrate — concrete examples of rapid prototyping with tools like Claude Code/Cowork or Google Stitch, and of using Claude, Gemini, or ChatGPT for research, synthesis, and analysis. Strongly preferred. - Expert-level Figma skills and fluency designing and prototyping complex workflows. - Experience executing within an existing design system and a localization process. - Experience conducting concept testing and customer interviews independently. - Strong written and verbal communication; comfort with high autonomy and high responsibility. - A track record of designing both product UX and product marketing assets, or a clear ability to flex across both. Nice to Have - Multilingual ability — Spanish or other languages — to support customer interviews abroad. - Experience designing for emerging markets, global audiences, or first-time digital users. - Background in fintech, payments, or other consumer financial products. - Prior contract or agency experience designing for consumer mobile and web. - Experience designing accessibility-conscious and compliance-aware consumer experiences. Compensation Details. The hourly range for this position is $100-$120. Our Connected Work Culture: Driving Innovation, Together At Remitly, we believe that true innovation sparks when we come together. Our Connected Work Culture fosters dynamic in-person collaboration, where ideas ignite and challenging problems find solutions faster. For corporate team members, we have an in-office expectation of at least 50% of the time monthly, typically achieved by coming in three days a week. These intentional in-office moments are vital for deepening relationships, fueling creativity, and ensuring your impact is felt where it matters most.
