Role Description Our client, a well-established and growing insurance organization, is seeking an experienced Commercial Insurance Compliance Coordinator to join their remote operations team. This individual will play a critical role in supporting certificate of insurance (COI) processing, contractual compliance review, and commercial lines servicing functions across a diverse commercial portfolio. The ideal candidate brings extensive knowledge of commercial insurance coverages, contractual risk transfer requirements, ACORD documentation, and compliance workflows. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can work independently, and is comfortable collaborating with internal teams, carriers, clients, and third parties. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced insurance professional seeking a long-term remote position with a collaborative and highly respected team. Key Responsibilities - Review client contracts, leases, subcontractor agreements, and vendor agreements to identify insurance requirements and compliance obligations. - Issue and manage Certificates of Insurance (COIs), endorsements, and supporting documentation accurately and efficiently. - Track certificate renewals, expirations, outstanding compliance items, and follow-up requests. - Verify policy coverage and endorsements against contractual insurance requirements. - Interpret insurance policy language and communicate coverage details clearly to clients, internal teams, carriers, and third parties. - Process and maintain ACORD forms and related compliance documentation. - Ensure compliance with carrier guidelines, contractual obligations, and industry regulations. - Maintain and manage compliance data through agency management systems, Excel, and proprietary platforms. - Partner with Account Managers, Producers, Carriers, and Clients to resolve discrepancies and secure required documentation. - Maintain organized electronic records and audit-ready files. - Stay current on commercial insurance regulations, certificate requirements, and best practices. - Identify opportunities to improve operational workflows, processing efficiency, and quality control procedures. Qualifications - Strong working knowledge of ACORD forms, certificate workflows, and compliance processes. - Experience with agency management systems such as Applied Epic, CSR24, cloud-based insurance platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite. - Deep understanding of commercial insurance coverages including: - General Liability - Commercial Property - Commercial Auto - Workers’ Compensation - Garage Dealers - Inland Marine - Disability / Paid Family Leave - Strong understanding of contractual risk transfer and insurance policy interpretation. - Ability to review and analyze insurance requirements within legal agreements and contracts. - Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. - Strong verbal and written communication abilities. - Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a remote work environment. - Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Requirements - Active New York State Property & Casualty License required. - High school diploma or GED required; equivalent insurance industry experience considered. - 8+ years of commercial insurance experience with a strong concentration in COI processing and compliance management. - Experience with compliance tracking systems, reporting tools, and data management platforms. - Advanced understanding of: - Primary & Non-Contributory wording - Waiver of Subrogation - Additional Insured endorsements (CG 20 10) - Additional Insured – Completed Operations (CG 20 37) - Blanket Additional Insured wording - Ongoing vs. Completed Operations - Per Project Aggregate requirements - 30-Day Notice of Cancellation requirements - C-105.2 and DB-120.1 forms - Experience reviewing insurance requirements for: - Commercial leases - Contractor/Subcontractor agreements - Vendor and supplier contracts - Additional contractual agreements - Knowledge of ACORD 855 (Construction Addendum) and New York Labor Law / Action-Over exposure is highly preferred. Preferred Background - Experience supporting construction, real estate, manufacturing, or contractor-focused accounts strongly preferred. - Prior experience working within a fully remote insurance operations environment is a plus.
