Applications received after that date may be considered until an adequate applicant pool has been established DUTIES: - Essential duties for this position include but are not limited to: - Provide academic advising to prospective, new, and continuing students regarding degree requirements, course selection, and academic planning - Engage in regular communication with students and faculty to support enrollment and retention - Help students resolve academic issues and navigate University policies and procedures - Utilize student information systems such as Banner, OrediggerWeb, and EAB Navigate360 to facilitate and track student meetings - Collaborate and coordinate with faculty and staff to support student success - Provide referrals to appropriate campus resources - Interpret and apply academic policies, including catalog requirements and math/writing placement procedures - Assist with new student orientation sessions and information sessions in Freshman Seminar classes REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university - Familiarity with higher education structures, policies, and student development principles - Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as a part of a team - Ability to remain calm and professional in a variety of situations - Excellent oral and written communication skills - Proficiency in standard computer applications with the ability to learn new systems quickly PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Master's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience, including assistantships, internships, or related practical experience - Related experiences in a college or university setting - Knowledge of university-level advising policies and procedures - Ability to demonstrate genuine empathy and care for students, their challenges and their successes - Fluency with software such as Banner, Oredigger Web, DegreeWorks, Navigate, and Canvas For full consideration application materials must be complete.
