Tax Associate
Rithum
• Manage the sales tax process including preparing returns, analyzing taxability, and staying current with tax law changes. • Prepare other regulatory filings (e.g., property tax returns, governmental surveys, FBARs). • Assist in the preparation, review, and mailing of federal, state, and local income tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provision calculations in accordance with ASC 740. • Maintain and update tax records and documentation to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations. • Conduct research on tax laws and regulations to provide guidance on tax implications for various business transactions. • Assist in developing and executing tax strategies aligned with the company’s financial and business objectives. • Assist in the preparation of responses to tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities. • Assist in the preparation of tax-related disclosures for financial statements and regulatory filings. • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure accurate and comprehensive tax reporting. • Work closely with finance, accounting, and legal teams to ensure alignment on tax-related matters. • Stay current on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for improvement. • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the tax function.
Job Requirements
- 1+ years of experience in tax.
- Understanding federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software and ERP systems (e.g., Netsuite or Oracle).
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects, demonstrating a high level of initiative and self-motivation.
- Ability to work EST or CST hours

Role Overview Our client is hiring Seasonal Tax Support Professionals to assist during peak and high-volume tax seasons. This is a contract-based role , with workload dependent on seasonal demand. The primary focus of this role is U.S. tax preparation . Depending on experience, skills, and business needs, team members may also support light tax-related data entry and administrative tasks .
