Job Description

Design Coordinator

Brown and Caldwell

• Support projects in our California-Desert Business Unit • Provide Design Coordination support on projects from start to finish • Maintain basic master lists and logs during design and construction • Coordinate specification development in Specification Development Platform (SpecLink) • Manage design deliverables production • Assist in developing design work breakdown structure and schedule • Help prepare and implement project and quality management plans • Coordinate and document basic QA/QC activities • Maintain project collaboration sites • Support Design Manager with Subject Matter Expert engagement for QC • May assist with subconsultant and teaming partner coordination • Coordinate design team meetings and communications • May prepare client presentation materials • Provide mentorship, guidance, support, and knowledge-sharing to help less experienced team members develop their skills.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum two years’ experience in project coordination and construction specification standards/EJCDC in the A&E and construction industry preferred
  • Associate’s degree in business administration or relevant work experience
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; Power Point, Project, SharePoint, Bluebeam and ProjectWise skills are a plus
  • Ability to anticipate project needs and identify work assignments independently
  • Comfortable working directly with senior managers and technical staff.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal) are essential
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a desire to learn and grow in the role
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize required
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment required
  • Ability to work under multiple deadline pressures required
  • Skilled in problem solving
  • Willing to work occasional over-time.
