Title: Senior Engineer, Application Development Location: FL - Saint Petersburg - 880 Carillon Pkwy Tower 1 time type Full time job requisition id R-0010987 Job Description Summary Job Description DUTIES: - Enhance and maintain Java-based applications and contribute to the development of new solutions by analyzing requirements and identifying areas for improvement. - Apply strong software engineering principles, including object-oriented design, design patterns, and core Java best practices. - Design, develop, and manage RESTful APIs and backend integration components. - Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex production and application defects to ensure stability and performance. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and deliver scalable Java applications and services. - Participate in all stages of the SDLC, including development, code reviews, testing, deployment, and release activities. - Work closely with Development Managers, Engineers, Business Analysts, and Project Managers to ensure alignment across teams. - Stay current with emerging Java frameworks, tools, and technologies; build proof-of-concepts as needed. - Recommend improvements to existing codebases and promote reuse of components to enhance efficiency and maintainability. - Support testing and validation procedures; review test results, document findings, and take corrective actions as required. - Conduct proper root-cause analysis to prevent recurring issues, defects, and schedule impacts. - Participate in on-call rotations and occasional non-standard work hours as required. - Perform other development-related duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related. - Five (5) years in any occupation with development or engineering experience. - Five (5) years in any occupation with development or engineering experience must include: - Experience with Java, Spring, SpringBoot, Hibernate/JPA, web services – REST/SOAP, JMS, MDB, CXF, and SLF4J; - Experience of relational DBMS technologies like SQL Server; - Experience with REST architecture, experience with NodeJS; - Experience working in continuous integration environment leveraging open-source tools such as Jenkins or Git; - Experience with SDLC lifecycle for agile & waterfall methodologies. SALARY: $145,642 per year Education Work Experience Certifications Travel Less than 25% Workstyle Hybrid The total compensation for this position includes base salary or wages, and may include components such as additional compensation (cash or equity), discretionary bonuses, or commissions.
