• Assist in managing payroll operations for exempt and non-exempt employees across multiple states to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations. • Work with employees to capture missing time entries and clarify any discrepancies. • Assist in reviewing and verifying time records for accuracy and completeness for weekly and bi-weekly payrolls. • Work with employees and clients to process prior pay period modifications and make timecard adjustments/corrections to support invoicing. • Process payroll exceptions including overpayments, off-cycle adjustments, etc. • Assist with processing PTO payouts, garnishments, bonuses, and any other supplemental pay. • Respond to employee-related payroll inquiries. • Assist in managing phone lines. • Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) years of payroll experience in multi-pay schedule environments.
- Experience supporting payroll for 500+ employees.
- Knowledge of multi-state payroll compliance and wage and hour regulations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Analytical and data processing skills
- Proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems (ISolved experience is a plus)

Customer Service - Monitor all internal/external communication channels for responsiveness. - Ensure proper telephone etiquette and effective communication with clients and colleagues. - Be comfortable on video camera while engaging with clients/customers. - Make independent decisions on problem resolution consistent with Newtek's policies. - Escalate significant client issues to Payroll Specialist II or management as needed. - Establish and maintain effective communication and coordination with the Newtek team. - Keep management informed of activities and significant client problems. - Demonstrate initiative by recommending ways to improve processes. - Attend and participate in meetings as required. - Maintain a professional manner and positive attitude with all Newtek and clients. - Identify areas of client dissatisfaction and coordinate with management to resolve.
