Senior Technical Writer

Sisense

• Lead the content strategy, Information Architecture (IA) design, and maintenance for the developer documentation site. • Drive a "Clean Sweep" initiative to overhaul the information architecture for both human and AI developers and migrate content to the new Docusaurus-based infrastructure (possible to use a different platform if preferable). • Implement an "AI-First Design" strategy, using llm.txt standards and structured solution summaries to ensure content is legible to LLMs and reduces hallucination in AI-generated code. • Produce high-quality documentation (API & SDK docs, feature guides, release notes) that is intent-based, rewriting tutorials to include the "Why" and "Use Case" descriptions alongside technical steps. • Collaborate with the REST API engineering team on documentation sanitation, migrating high-priority endpoints to OpenAPI 3.0 specs, and providing detailed usage explanations. • Create and maintain accurate code samples, including embedding interactive and editable code examples and the Compose SDK playground directly into the documentation. • Perform final "Human-AI" clarity audits on all tutorials before launch. • Work closely with R&D and Product teams to ensure the quality and accuracy of all content. • Act on feedback from the field, both inside and outside the organization, in order to continually improve the documentation.

Job Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience authoring complex technical documentation for a developer or engineering audience.
  • Established track record of project ownership, project management, and self-direction, with proven experience in defining Information Architecture.
  • Deep experience with SDK or API documentation for an engineering audience. Knowledge of REST APIs, OpenAPI, and familiarity with JavaScript front end frameworks or Typescript are a must.
  • Hands-on experience with code and software development tools such as IDEs (Visual Studio, WebStorm, etc.) and Source Control (GitHub, Gitlab, etc.).
  • Ability to understand code samples and improve their documentation, both inline and externally.
  • Familiarity with API documentation tools such as Swagger or OpenAPI.
  • Great communication skills, written and verbal.
  • "Self-starter" mindset with a bias for action.
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, English, or equivalent work experience.
