People Operations Intern
ProphetX
Role Description We're looking for a People Ops Intern who is equal parts organized administrator and curious builder. If you see a manual process and immediately think 'there has to be a better way,' you'll fit right in. This isn't a shadow-and-observe internship. You'll have real ownership, work directly with leadership, and contribute to a People Ops function that's already running and ready to level up. You'll tighten what exists, spot what's missing, and help build smarter ways for People Ops to support the business as we grow. What You’ll Do - Own HR administrative tasks: onboarding/offboarding coordination, documentation, and system updates in Gusto. - Maintain accurate employee records and support data integrity across People systems. - Support employee engagement initiatives: all-hands prep, recognition programs, and internal comms. - Identify manual or repetitive workflows and propose automation or AI-enabled improvements. - Use tools like Claude, Slack, and Google Suite to build lightweight processes that actually stick. - Present one process improvement recommendation to leadership before the internship ends. Qualifications - Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in HR, Business, Psychology, or related field. - Proficient with Google Suite: this is your daily toolkit. - Familiar with or actively curious about AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar). - Strong attention to detail and comfortable handling confidential information with discretion. - A self-starter who doesn't wait to be told what to do next. - Bonus: Extra credit if you have experience with Gusto or similar HRIS. - Familiarity with Lovable, or Notion. - Extra Extra credit if you care about sports, fintech, or the future of prediction markets. Benefits - Real ownership of People Ops work: real work that matters. - Direct mentorship and exposure to leadership at a high-growth fintech startup. - A concrete project you can speak to in interviews and put in your portfolio. - Attendance at our company gathering: meet the full team, not just a Slack handle. - Letter of recommendation upon successful completion.
