General Automation QA Engineer

Role Description We are looking for a General Automation QA Engineer who will combine manual and automated testing, help strengthen product quality throughout the development lifecycle, and serve as a quality partner to both QA and engineering teams. Your mission will be writing and maintaining automated tests, performing manual testing, reviewing tests created by developers (mostly unit and functional, sometimes integration), and providing practical feedback on coverage gaps, missed scenarios, and quality risks. The role also includes working with requirements, creating test cases, and contributing to the test strategy. Your Responsibilities - Perform manual and automated testing; - Write, maintain, and improve automated and manual tests; - Work with automated checks for different levels of testing, including functional, integration, API, and other relevant test scenarios; - Use PHP and Codeception as the main automation stack in the role; - Review and provide feedback for tests written by developers, including unit tests and other relevant automated checks; - Review and improve the structure and stability of current tests, reducing flaky cases; - Provide clear recommendations to developers on how to improve test quality and coverage; - Analyze requirements and participate in test design; - Contribute to test strategy and suggest the most efficient testing approach for different tasks and product areas; - Create and maintain bug reports, checklists, and basic test documentation in the ClickUp system; - Investigate issues using logs, database queries, and technical tools; - Work with test cases, test documentation, and test coverage visibility in Qase; - Work with Allure reports to analyze test results and improve reporting transparency; - Support continuous improvement of the QA process, including best practices and quality standards. Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in QA, including 3+ years in test automation; - Strong hands-on experience in test automation using PHP; - Experience with automation frameworks and the ability to build maintainable automated tests; - Experience with manual functional and exploratory testing; - Strong understanding of test design techniques and quality assurance principles; - Experience reviewing automated tests and identifying coverage gaps; - Ability to challenge solutions constructively and defend quality standards; - Experience in analyzing requirements and translating them into test scenarios, both manual and automated; - Ability to work with logs and databases during troubleshooting and issue investigation; - Experience with ClickUp, Qase, Allure, or similar systems; - Experience with AI-powered tools to support test automation by generating and optimizing tests, creating test data, and improving testing speed and efficiency; - Strong communication skills, ownership, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to quality; - Fluency in English - both spoken and written. Requirements - Nice to Have: - Experience with Codeception; - Experience testing frontend applications based on Playwrite; - Experience working with PostgreSQL; - Familiarity with Docker; - Understanding of CI/CD processes; - Experience with a command-line interface; - Microservices Expertise - understanding of distributed systems and service interactions; - ISTQB Foundation Level certification (or higher).
