• Developing fluid systems • Working closely with multi-disciplined teams and the supply chain • Developing 2D CAD drawings, including process flow diagrams (PFD) and process and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) • Preparing 3D CAD/BIM models, plant layouts, piping design, isometrics, MTO, general arrangement drawings, detail drawings and sketches • Performing layout optimisation engineering across design phases • Participating in 3D model reviews, layout reviews, design reviews and technical meetings • Ensuring compliance with required design safety factors, tolerances, specifications, standards, codes, legislation and requirements • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to ensure a coordinated design • Maintaining records of design process in accordance with sound design practices • Maintaining and updating databases for CAD/BIM design documentation • Reporting status and updates to management line

Job Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer or a similar role
  • Ability to work within the engineering team to realise designs
  • Familiarity with 2D CAD systems (AutoCAD) for drawing creation
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD/BIM systems (Revit, Inventor, Solidworks, Solid Edge, Siemens NX, PDMS, AutoCAD Plant 3D or similar) for model and drawing creation
  • Professional qualification in an engineering related field
  • SC Clearance or capable of achieving it

Role Description This position can be performed remotely from any location in the United States. This individual will work exclusively for Turner's Advanced Technology Group, which includes our Data Center, Pharmaceutical, Industrial/Manufacturing, and EV/Battery/Renewables market segment groups (MSG). Position Description: Prepare detailed estimates for the project based on the design documents, narratives, and specifications, focusing on the Mechanical/Plumbing/Fire Protection/Electrical/Technology/LV System (MEP) trades. Reports to: Preconstruction Manager / MEP Manager Essential Duties & Responsibilities: - Communicate mechanical and electrical estimate and scopes of work to Turner staff, architects, engineers, and owners. - Prepare quantity take-offs, analysis, estimates, and studies for Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Electrical, Technology, and Low Voltage (LV) system items incorporated in assigned scope from conceptual design through completed construction documents. Preliminary design work may be required to complete conceptual estimates. - Analyze existing site conditions and contract documents (e.g., plans, specifications) to determine required scope not already indicated. - Develop working relationships with local material suppliers and equipment vendors to solicit accurate and current pricing of plumbing fixtures, HVAC equipment, piping and sheet metal material, lighting, distribution equipment, low voltage systems, and other material pricing. - Develop working relationships with local Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Electrical, Technology, and LV system (MEP) trade partners to build and maintain list of qualified bidders for projects. - Perform constructability analysis of project documents.
