Description and Requirements The Asia Data and Analytics Officer will have full responsibility and accountability for leading the ideation and development of actionable and impactful data & analytics solutions for MetLife's Asia Business strategy, tailored to local business needs. Will deliver data and analytics solutions across all critical business functions such as customer acquisitions, loyalty, retention, profitability, risk management, innovation, operations and more. The role involves creating and delivering a data roadmap that aligns with Asia's regional and local business goals and enables data-driven decision making, collaborating with stakeholders and partners, identifying new and novel uses for data and analytics, ensuring the prioritization and delivery of data capabilities, and driving operational excellence and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: 1. Leverage extensive business acumen and technical expertise to drive a regional data and AI strategy that aligns with Asia's business priorities 2. Collaborate across regional and country business units, IT, Infrastructure, Analytics, and vendor partners to develop and execute a comprehensive Regional Data Roadmap. 3. Translate strategic priorities into actionable programs and projects, including AI use cases that enhance customer experience, operational efficiency, and revenue growth. 4. Partner with Tech leads to define and implement architecture, policies, and scalable frameworks for managing data and AI as strategic assets. 5. Ensure the deployment of modern, cost-effective, and standardized tools and platforms that support both traditional data needs and emerging AI capabilities. 6. Lead the onboarding of Asia countries into new platforms, tools, and governance models. 7. Support local teams in identifying opportunities for AI adoption, resolving implementation challenges, and ensuring alignment with regional transformation goals. 8. Drive critical, time-sensitive transformation initiatives across Asia, including the integration of AI into business processes and digital channels. 9. Build strong partnerships with stakeholders at country, regional, and global levels to ensure alignment and impact. 10. Provide regular updates to Senior Asia leadership on the progress and impact of initiatives, ensuring transparency and accountability. 11. Partner with Enterprise Data Governance, Data Engineering and Data Science teams to define an optimized end-to-end data-to-insight cycle, integrating AI-driven analytics and automation where applicable. 12. Act as a change agent to embed a data centric culture across MetLife Asia. echnical Experience • 15+ years of experience in data-related roles, including technical leadership positions within complex, regulated environments. • Proven track record in planning, designing, and implementing data technology strategies across regional or global organizations, preferably in financial services, insurance, or technology consulting. • Deep expertise in cloud-based data platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS), including big data environments, ingestion and curation tools (Spark, Databricks, Delta Lake, BigQuery), and API development. • Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks (DMBOK, COBIT) and hands-on experience with leading tools such as Informatica Axon, EIC, PowerCenter, Data Quality , Collibra, BigID, MDM, and RDM. • Experience in developing and deploying AI solutions, including productivity tools powered by AI and graph database technologies. Business Acumen and Strategic Thinking • Solid understanding of the insurance business and the ability to translate strategic needs into data-driven technology solutions. • Experience leading digital transformation and operational simplification initiatives aligned with regional strategies such as New Frontier. • Ability to define and track business impact metrics and KPIs related to data and AI initiatives. • Project management skills, including building and delivering on effective project plans, identifying risks/obstacles, developing contingency plans and recommending solutions for resource constraints. • Experience developing/designing data roadmaps in complex regulated organizations with legacy technology infrastructure.
